He has really understood the importance of a more balanced attack. 30 runs for 100+ yards coupled with 38 pass attempts for 300+ yards...well done.

Seems his biggest critique of what Lombardi did was the unwillingness to stick to the run game to take pressure off the pass game.

I think these last few games have cemented Stafford as our guy. I will be beyond pissed if our draft isn't full of OL. Load up, protect the qb, and make holes for abdullah, riddick, and bell.

Matt had a very good game, but one game isn't enough to be on his bandwagon. Though I might be back on the defense's bandwagon.

Austin has the defense playing really well. The offense did just enough to win against GB and Oakland. The Eagles gave up 90 points and nearly a 1000 yards of offense the last two weeks. Jameis Winston put 5 on them. My expectations are elevated but tempered.

I'm 100% okay with Stafford as our guy, but I was before these last few games. In fact, they didn't change my opinion at all. I think his problem was coaching.

I would be very okay with loading up the O-Line, so long as we also load up some D-Line. Ngata is history after this season, Walker was a one-year rental, and Reid and Wright have played well enough, but we've also had to hire a cast of castoffs.

Go get me some big boys in the middle of the D-Line and rebuild the strength of the team that went to the playoffs. O-line is coming along well enough with a new coaching staff, let's get to the D-Line.

Question. Jerrah offers you a 1 a 3 and a near 40 year old Romo coming off I.R. 1. Could you see a trade like that happening? 2. Would YOU take it?

I don't think Jerry is ready to give up on Romo. He's the son Jerry never wanted to have.

In the event the trade did come in though, I would have to say no. Romo is a baked potato that's been in the oven too long.

I'm not saying Stafford is becoming the next Brady, but at this point he's got higher upside than a guy who breaks his collarbone every 4th hit. Romo in Detroit would be Charles Rogers part 2.

Romo is just damaged goods.. Unless its a deal that cannot be refused..

That's what I thought, and as Jerry may love Romo, he loves Super Bowls more. Throw in the season ticket sales of bringing back a Dallas kid and I think Jerry would literally cut off his arm to get Stafford. What could we get? Two 1s and Romo? I don't think it's out of the question. If you play a simulation as our new GM what would you take for Stafford ?

Two firsts, a 3rd, and a 6th... and we don't have to take Romo. Big money contract for a guy who's body has given up on him.

In exchange I give back Stafford and a 5th.

Edit: And I only make THAT deal if there is a QB in the draft I believe can be my long term answer, and there isn't this year in my book.

imo the offense seems to work better when riddick is in there, more riddick less fumbledullah would be fine

Give Austin three firsts to work with you could get Tebow at QB.

Three firsts? Yeah, I would do three firsts. I don't think even Jerrah.. on a day he forgets to take his Excelon meds, would give up three firsts for Stafford.

I can't think of a player I wouldn't trade for three firsts.

Our own plus your trade four 1s in two years? Plus Austin's ability to develop young players. There is your dream defense. My point is the GM has to explore the possibility right? Stafford playing well right now you have to believe has teams willing to mortgage their future. Sam Bradford cost Chip Kelly a 2!

Jerry would be target number 1, but the Eagles, Texans...I have to preface this with the disclaimer that as much as I complain about Stafford in his down time, I am in no rush to see him leave.

No, the new GM doesn't have to explore the possibility, and he shouldn't.

He should stand on the premise that he's not trading Staff. Don't give anyone, especially Jerrah, the idea that we may want to move him.

Make any suitor come to us, and make them think they are going to have to overpay to get him.

If our GM makes the calls, the offers go down. Make them come to us with better deals.

I'm not saying broadcast it, but if Stafford keeps playing well that phone is going to ring. You're the brand spanking new GM this is your first major decision. Someone gives you a Godfather offer. What do you do? Tough call for the new guy.

If someone offers that many firsts.. it better not be a tough call.

You jump on that shit and run away laughing.

Maybe you stop long enough to ask if they want to pitch you two more firsts and two seconds for Calvin too.

Cooter definitely understands his personnel better than Lombardi ever did. He's designed the offense to put his guys in the position to win which is what good coaches do. The line calls are less convoluted so those guys know who to block. The oline still isn't great but the results the last few weeks shows they are progressing.

Stafford showed today especially that the early losses were more play calling and less his fundamentals. He's played well in the last few. It would be hard to trade him but for enough firsts it's not impossible. That being said nobody is offering that much.
