Coronainsanity

I think the food pyramid was retired like a decade ago. Don't know what replaced it. It was a replacement for the 4 food groups.

When did they discover gut biomes? I wonder if it was all upended by gut biomes.

I know what they tell me is healthy, but I feel best after getting a burger and fries (not fast food though, like at a bar or restaurant)

I've tried mostly to cut refined sugar out, and processed food. Those are unquestionably bad. And also eat more salad.

the literature I've been reading is about the the current USDA recommended diet, the food pyramid reference is my mistake. sorry for any cornfusion.

I do believe Bill Gates would give you a grant to try this if you can come up with an appropriate toroidal magnetic cobtainment field.

very clever indeed. maybe I'll draft an RFP, get the grant and blow it on fossil fuel burning cars, boats and planes. really stick to the man!

must be nice to work for the federal government - Dem politicians blow you a nice sweet kiss for reliably voting for them in every election, which is not at all a conflict of interest when government employee unions negotiate for wages and benefits with elected officials.

Anyway, while ordinary Americans are getting $1,400 one time checks, subject to certain limitations, on page 305 of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, it says ANY full time federal employee is eligible for $1,400 PER WEEK FOR FIFTEEN WEEKS in paid TIME OFF if they have any kids who are not enrolled in full time in-classroom instruction at school. So while ordinary Uncle Joe, champion of the working class, won't put any pressure on teachers' unions to reopen schools, he's going to sign a bill that will allow federal employees to take almost 1/3 of the year off at a salary rate of $70k/yr paid for by the American taxpayers so they can deal with the challenges of virtual learning for their kids. There's no requirement for "working remotely" for these parents, they get 15 weeks paid leave. Part time and seasonal federal workers are eligible for the compensation on a pro rata basis.

Dr Seuss is the number 2 highest earning dead celebrity. Michael Jackson is #1. He's not being cancelled. I suspect this will sell more books.

I don't know about all lines of work, but for the fields I'm plugged into working for the federal government means trading higher wages for better job security and benefits. Leaving your government job to get a pay boost in the private sector doing the same work is a common enough move, nobody questions that that's the reality.
