Coronainsanity

I don?t know if they?re going to be bad enough to challenge that Brandon Inge lead 2003 squad, who were so bad that they couldn?t even manage to break the record of the Legendary 1963 Mets by winning their way out of it in the last two games of the season.

We'll see. Their offense is quite pathetic. Averaging less than 3 runs per game, I dunno. Hopefully, it's just a very slow 30 game start.

Mize looked better last night.

Sparky once said, and I?m sure that many here know this already, ?You can't tell anything about a baseball team until 40 games have been played.?

I wonder if he?d make an exception with this 2021 Tigers? team.

This year?s Tigers are 3 or 4 games ahead of the pace of the 2003 Tigers who, at the end of the day, even actually failed to achieve the status of ?historically bad.?

Nothing to see here, folks.

Science Brief: Background Rationale and Evidence for Public Health Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People

Key Points

COVID-19 vaccines currently authorized in the United States are effective against COVID-19, including severe disease.

Preliminary evidence suggeststhat the currently authorized COVID-19 vaccines may provide some protection against a variety of strains, including B.1.1.7 (originally identified in the United Kingdom). Reduced antibody neutralization and efficacy have been observed for the B.1.351 strain (originally identified in South Africa). However, across studies, antibody neutralizing activity of sera from vaccinated people was still generally higher than that observed for convalescent sera from people who have recovered from COVID-19.

A growing body of evidence suggests that fully vaccinated people are less likely to have asymptomatic infection and potentially less likely to transmit SARS-CoV-2 to others. However, further investigation is ongoing.

Modeling studies suggest that preventive measures such as mask use and social distancing will continue to be important during vaccine implementation. However, there are ways to take a balanced approach by allowing vaccinated people to resume some lower-risk activities.

Taking steps towards relaxing certain measures for vaccinated people may help improve COVID-19 vaccine acceptance and uptake.

The risks of SARS-CoV-2 infection in fully vaccinated people cannot be completely eliminated as long as there is continued community transmission of the virus. Vaccinated people could potentially still get COVID-19 and spread it to others. However, the benefits of relaxing some measures such as testing and self-quarantine requirements for travelers, post-exposure quarantine requirements and reducing social isolation may outweigh the residual risk of fully vaccinated people becoming ill with COVID-19 or transmitting the virus to others.

At this time, there are limited data on vaccine protection in people who are immunocompromised. People with immunocompromising conditions, including those taking immunosuppressive medications, should discuss the need for personal protective measures after vaccination with their healthcare provider.

Who can read this and conclude that the vaccine is the cure for COVID?

I never thought it was being advertised as a cure, but a great way to limit the spread so significantly, that it would be more of a problem, vs. a pandemic that kills hundreds of thousands.

Nothing to see here, folks.

Have you watched any games yet Tinsel? Do you know anything about this team beyond the win-loss record? Because you're not talking like someone who has.

the 2003 team is still in the blind spot - lots of baseball to be played before it's in the rear view mirror.

It?s not a cure by definition. Vaccine are preventive, not curative.

Vaccines are not 100% preventive. Cures are not 100% curative.

Zinc ionophores - like Hydroxychloroquine - have been demonstrated by MD practitioners to be effective cures when used in a cocktail with zinc and azithromycin, despite what the lying political lackey Faucci might say - but not 100% effective. Same can be said of Remdesivir.

Miguel Cabrera is still on the team right?

I?m pretty sure he was not on the 2003 team.

I stand corrected. Though if today's iteration of Miguel Cabrera tried out for the 2003 team I don't think he'd make it.

Ha!

Last season I listened to Jim and Danny Boy pretty much every game on SiriusXM radio, and then I would listen to the dodger games afterward. The return of baseball was a balm to my psyche as I think it was to the sake of many others.

Still tuning in this season although not as often and I think it?s what about 60% the same personnel?

I don?t know why they are as terrible this season as they have been so far.

mRNA isn't a vaccine it's gene therapy

The Center for Disease Control, the CDC, gives the definition of the term vaccine on its website. A vaccine is a product that stimulates a person?s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease. Immunity is the protection from an infectious disease. If you are immune to a disease, you can be exposed to it without being infected.?

https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/imz-basics.htm

Continuing, the doctor says, ?This so-called COVID-19 vaccine does not provide any individual who receives the vaccine with immunity to COVID-19. Nor does it prevent the spread of the disease.?

Because of this, ?It does not meet the CDC?s own definition of a vaccine. That?s why it?s a deceptive trade practice, under 15 U.S. Code Section 41 of the Federal Trade Commission, for pharmaceutical companies who are producing this experimental gene therapy to claim that it?s a vaccine.?

The experimental gene therapy is ?only designed to minimize your symptoms if you were to be infected with the COVID-19 virus.?
For those who might ask why the pharmaceutical companies would intentionally call the gene therapy treatments a ?vaccine,? Dr. Hotze claims Big Pharma is attempting to shield itself ?because vaccine injuries or deaths are exempted by law from any product liability lawsuits.?

With no published animal studies and no long-term human studies, individuals who are taking the experimental gene therapy ?vaccines,? are basically Guinea Pigs for the scientific elite.

The Texas doctor adds, ?These ?vaccines,? which are manufactured using cells derived from human babies that were aborted in the 1970s, should more accurately be called an experimental gene therapy. They are an untested, unproven experimental gene therapy that poses a much greater danger to your health than COVID-19 itself.?

Dr. Hotze explains how major pharma company Moderna was founded in 2010 as ModeRNA Therapeutics because they were interested in developing experimental gene therapy using synthetic mRNA for the treatment of various diseases.

?Moderna has never successfully developed a product for treatment of any disease prior to this,? he states. ?An experimental gene therapy using synthetic mRNA to treat an infectious disease has never been attempted in humans, because of its failure in previous animal studies.?

The synthetic messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) experimental gene therapy has previously immune system hyper-reactions during animal testing.

Dr. Hotze warns a similar side-effect could take place in humans when they are later exposed to the same coronavirus against which they had been previously vaccinated.

The auto-immune response could set people up for a lifetime of serious inflammatory disease.
According to Dr. Hotze, when people who take the COVID shot start to get even sicker due to the mRNA therapy, anti-vaxxers and ?variant strains? of the virus will be blamed.

However, since the experimental gene therapy is being labeled a ?vaccine,? the companies producing these potentially harmful products are exempt from being sued for any injury caused by vaccinations.

they can call it anything they want and the still can't be sued because the federal government, during the Trump administration, gave them immunity from liability.

CDC calls mRNA vaccines.

Forbes refutes mRNA is gene therapy.

Others do too but I don?t wanna post all the links.

I went with the not mRNA option.

I did a search for "Dr. Hotze" and this guy came up:
In 1976, Hotze graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch with his Doctor of Medicine.[4] Hotze promoted a series of claims with no basis in science, including that taking birth control pills made women "less attractive to men" and that "when men lose their testicles to disease or injury, they have difficulty reading a map, performing math problems and making decisions."[1]

In December 2020, Vice described Hotze's medical practice as "hawking 'alternative treatments' for postpartum depression, aging, thyroid problems, and even COVID-19".[4] Hotze has promoted various fringe and pseudoscientific medical claims, such as the existence of "yeast hypersensitivity syndrome"; the use of colloidal silver as a cure for various diseases; and the use of non-standard drugs for hypothyroidism.[1] A seller of hormone therapy products,[5] Hotze gained wealth through a chain of "wellness centers" in Texas.[4] He asserted that his line of bioidentical hormones prevented cancer, a claim that lacks scientific support.[1] Hotze has been a practicing physician since at least 2000, and is based in Katy, Texas.[6]

In a 2005 appearance on the CBS Early Show, Hotze advanced his views about thyroid disorders; in a letter to CBS, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists criticized Hotze's statements as "completely erroneous and unsubstantiated, and ... readily refuted by a large body of solid scientific evidence."[7][8] In 2018, an environmental organization filed suit against Hotze's businesses, alleging that some of its consumer products contained undisclosed quantities of lead; that suit is pending.

some people seem to go out of their way to seek out quacks for medical advice, it's bizarre

errrr...
Hotze has promoted conspiracy theories such as QAnon[4][8] and has asserted that the COVID-19 pandemic was a "global ritual" to "inject experimental nano bots and chemi-kills into our bodies to alter our DNA using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to turn us into zombie-like, controlled masses and weapons of war."[8]

Anti-LGBT Edit
Hotze has opposed homosexuality since at least 1986, once comparing "LGBT people to Nazis and pledg[ing] to drive 'homofascists' from Houston to San Francisco."

yikes

there's so much comedy gold in this garbage, and it sucks no one is mining it anymore.

What you bolded in #2696, the part about men losing their testicles also losing their ability to read maps and do math, sounds like a joke that I would make if I had the opportunity.

I made a joke just now that got on the radio. We have another recall election and this one is going to turn into a circus just like the last one, and there?s this dude running for governor who is using a bear in commercials, and in an interview, he was quoted as saying during the commercial shooting, he demonstrated how well the bear had been cared for by claiming that he had kissed the bear.

So I texted the host of the show, John Phillips on KABC 790 Los Angeles, ?did the bear give consent?? And a minute later John used it on the radio.
