But what you seem to be missing is this doesn't apply when public sector unions are involved - they trump the medical experts and their science and data every time. When you think about it, it makes a lot of sense - I mean, who do you think taught science to these "experts" in the first place?

Edit: sarcasm aside, Catholic and other religious schools have been open all year with full day in-person instruction quarantining individuals or classes here and there for brief periods of virtual instruction but that has been very rare and done out of an abundance of caution.

26,000,000 asymptomatic cases AO today. Meaning 10% with symptoms have died. 85% of those deaths are < 65 years of age, and 70% are < 80 years of age. <90% had "underlying medical conditions."

As far as what we'd do about the current pandemic... I don't see the point.

We're not going to go to war with China; we're not going to stop trading with China and financing their manufacturing of much of our consumer goods. We're not going to limit international travel.

And I doubt we'll ever even know for sure. No sovereign nation would ever let another willingly allow an investigation like that within their borders; so either China would have to admit COVID-19 was created in a lab in Wuhan (or somewhere in China) and either they intentionally or accidentally released it, or we're just going to have to speculate.

And regardless of it being a lab leak vs something from some market, China messed up badly letting people travel for that lunar holiday when they knew enough to lock down. Why would I be confident that that count is true when the government has lied to us about so much of everything else since this happened?

EDIT: Also, forget about not panicking. That ship sailed over a year ago.
