I have a hard time believing a NY gov actually said that in an evangelical church.
stranger things have happened I guess, but I googled it, and all I get are links from sites like welovetrump.com repeating the same story as eachother. no actual video or audio clips that I could find.
A lot of MSM outlets are reporting this, too.
I still am not seeing that... but i'll be damned! after a page of batshit wacky sites, or half-batshit wacky sites like the WashingtonTimes, I found a brietbart link that had the actual video!
It does sound like something Pat Robertson or George W. Bush would say, but swap out "get vaccinated" for some rightwing bullshit, like "get tough on terror... by giving Halliburton $500 billion" or "a hurricane hitting North Carolina instead of South Carolina is a sign my god hates homosexuals"
I guess the problem here for you guys is she's appropriating the medium ear-marked for Right Wing pontificating for Left wing pontificating?
though I think "be smart, get vaccinated, god would want you to" is not nearly as troubling as you guys are making it out to be. Again... it's improving our individual (and collective) odds of surviving what is now the deadliest pandemic in American history.
From the Governor?s website
So you go from ?hard to believe? to ?not nearly as troubling?. My only point us that the references to the speech are ubiquitous..
The 1918 Flu was far deadlier IMO. The US population was 103 million and that flu killed a high percentage of healthy younger people.

me: taking the time to look up the source of an unsourced quote, commenting on it, and admitting my misgivings about it's truth turned out to be false
Republitard posters too lazy to do that themselves, who normally just dismiss anything they don't post out-of-hand as untrue: "Look at your mental gymnastics, soy boy!"

I assure you all that is exactly where all this is heading if you continue to comply with each incremental inch fraudchi asks for.
All aboard the last train to quatrain depopulation camp.
A day ahead of New York?s vaccine mandate deadline, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) attended a church service, where she told Christian worshippers the vaccine had been delivered straight from God.
Speaking at a Sunday mass at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, Hochul attempted to frame her draconian edicts as though they were ordained by God himself
We are not through this pandemic,? Hochul said.
?I wished we were, but I prayed a lot to God during this time and you know what, God did answer our prayers. He made the smartest men and women, the scientists, the doctors, the researchers ? he made them come up with a vaccine. That is from God to us and we must say, ?Thank you, God. Thank you.'?
?Yes, I know you?re vaccinated. they?re the smart ones, but you know, there are people out there who aren?t listening to god and what god wants. you know, this, you know who they are,? she stated.
?I need you to be my apostles, I need you to go out and talk about it and say, ?We owe this to each other. We love each other.? Jesus taught us to love one another and how do you show that love but to care about each other enough to say, ?Please get the vaccine because I love you and I want you to live? I want our kids to be safe when they?re in schools? I want to be safe when you go to a doctor?s office or to a hospital and are treated by somebody?? You don?t want to get the virus from them. You?re already sick or you wouldn?t be there.?
This incremental march to compliance to mandates in general is the issue. Mandates and freedom are mutually exclusive concepts.
I see enforcing mandates through corporate employment policies as more troubling & insidious than a blanket government mandate (which affects everyone equally, and can be challenged through (theoretically...) democratic process). Also less effective.
I see no distinction between them, because there is a K Constant phenomenon in progress. Meaning that they influence each other?s mandates.
You don't see a difference between "all Americans must do this," and "all employees of these corporations must do this?"
If you choose to work for another like company, what?s the point?I guess the second one is less coercive, because if you have the means you can just quit your job.
Seems unfair to me though. It absolves business owners, the idle rich, and the unemployed poor/homeless. Also a bit short-sighted, since COVID doesn't care if you believe in it or not, or "need to do your own research" before getting the shot.
