me: taking the time to look up the source of an unsourced quote, commenting on it, and admitting my misgivings about it's truth turned out to be false

Republitard posters too lazy to do that themselves, who normally just dismiss anything they don't post out-of-hand as untrue: "Look at your mental gymnastics, soy boy!"

Or some people are just tired of having to repeat themselves to you knuckle dragging ends justify the means jack wagons. You know damn well where I get my news. I don't just make shit up.

I think the ends justify the means,

That mentality is precisely how we get death camps you blithering fool. Moral authority dems are very dangerous people. You nor anyone else on this planet has the moral authority to tell me what I must to do my own body. Dems or republicans, that's a free will personal choice between each individual person and his or her maker.

yikes. well, don't pick and choose what liberties are important to you and what aren't. go live out in the woods away from everybody else.

Of course.

You knew I knew that, right?

I just wanted to see who was on their toes.

Thoreau is not the only one who went to live in the wilderness once.

There was Jeremiah Johnson, there was Grizzly Adams, and now there?s that guy who probably killed that Instagram influencer ? is that what she?s being called, an influencer?

Like Olivia Jade, whose mom is back on the set of that Lifetime Network TV show she left.

Or was fired from.

When she got busted.

I thought Emerson loaned Thoreau the property or was otherwise involved in some intangible way, so maybe you just got them mixed up.

I'm sure there have been many people throughout the years that go and live in the wilderness.

I think some subset of them do it for publicity (ironically) and so do not count.

Like if you are really going to live in the wildnerss, go there and stay there. Don't be like Thoreau. And don't mail people bombs & publish a manifesto, or come back and loudly prophesize the coming of the Messiah.

Just Stay away and shut up.

who is the one picking and choosing which liberties are important to him? You seem to be totally unaware that you're the guy who thinks individual liberties should be surrendered for the greater good of the collective, where the greater good and how to achieve it is determined by government overlords. Even if this weren't another completely self-unaware post, isn't that a basic liberty - deciding for yourself what's most important to you?

Yeah, I'd add...

pay income or wealth taxes = bad
shift tax burden to poor people through sales taxes, and "sin" taxes = good
have roads to drive private vehicles on; require cities to zone for parking = good
local governments provide subsidized busing and rail transport to everyone = bad
allow vouchers for private religious schools (mainly christian by default) = good
fund public schools = bad

In July Attorney Renz Whistleblower, under penalty of perjury, stated that she estimated at least 45K people had died from the Covid-19 Vaccine. USA Today Fact Checkers and other fact checking services claimed that to be ?misinformation.? Today?s revelations solidify that the ?Trusted News Initiative? is actually the source of misinformation and propaganda, and that Attorney Thomas Renz Whistleblower was correct all along.

Probably fake news! Damn knuckle draggers

posting arguments that show you know absolutely nothing about taxes, who pays what in taxes, who that money belongs, how funding for public education works, or who the people who spend that money should be accountable to = dumb.

keeping the streak alive.

SHIFTING THE TAX BURDEN, PoliticsNC:
"Sales taxes are regressive. They take a larger percentage of money from low income families than they do higher income families. That?s why liberals in North Carolina howled when the Republicans running the legislature reduced the income tax rate on the highest earners and replaced it with a sales tax on services. Today, the results are clear. Poorer North Carolinians are paying a larger percentage of their income to the government than richer ones.
makes sense.

States' Shifting Reliance on Income Versus Sales Taxes, Governing.com:
Several Republican governors have made the case for gradually trimming income taxes with the goal of eventually doing away with them altogether.

FWIW here's a fun extremely verbose response from the Heritage Foundation, arguing that who pays a tax isn't necessary who is "burdened" by it. Paying a tax is actually a benefit. or something

I didn?t see anything in the Heritage piece about state income and sales taxes.

The second link is kind of dated, 2015, it mentions something about Ohio Governor John Kasich.

The first piece is from about a year and a half ago; I don?t know what the state election cycle is in North Carolina is but whomever it was in that state who howled when the tax laws were changed can take their case to voters that they should vote for candidates whom would charge the law back.
