Is this is the thread where I learned that Republicans only give Whitmer a hard time because they want to have sex with her? If not, forgive me for putting this in the wrong place but I've been meaning to point out that the Governor of South Dakota is hotter than Whitmer and nobody is giving her a hard time, so maybe there's another reason?

I don't even quote those here anymore because for every Doomsday model, someone can find a model that shows more people die from <insert afflcition>. It's just not worth the effort. If people don't believe it's a problem now, they never will (and vice versa). It's just not worth my effort.

This can't be right, this seems to be indicating that he Chicoms are backing the Dems - or should I interpret this as they're intervening to make sure the nom goes to someone Trump can beat?

They do have more money than the Russians so it's certainly plausible. If they're in the game, the Dems can just give up now - no way they can win an election with the Chicoms, Russians and Ukranians all interfering on Trump's behalf.

Not really, at least not according to the theory as I understand it. See the GOP is run by a bunch of old, horny, misogynistic white men (who are also irredeemably racist, of course). These men can't control themselves and their social maturity is at roughly a 5th grade level so when they see an attractive woman, they let her know they like her by attacking her policies. This problem is not universal and doesn't extend to people on the left, even the old white dudes.

Actually, it was the dumbass governor that said the protest could cause a spike in cases and necessitate an extension of her shelter in place order. LOL @ you for having no idea what you're talking about and not knowing sarcasm even when it's laid on really thick.

Also, here?s a Vanity Fair piece that covered the protest at the State Capitol in Lansing on April 15th. They didn?t get all 8k-9k people you mentioned in the frame but clearly they?re not all wearing masks and social distancing or staying in their cars.

By the way, who paid these out of state people? The Russians?

No, you can't. I said the protestors were protected from the virus by the guns they were carrying. Only a fool would say I'm claiming sarcasm after the fact to suit my asssertions.

Also, stalker boy, I don't care what you think about the twitter account I post on less than once a month and I care even less to find you on twitter - I read too much stupid crap from you here as it is (like Betsy DeVoss is busing protestors from out of state to show up at the capitol). I also don't care whether or not you think I miss reading MCs posts - I do, but today I miss it a little less and for that I'm grateful to you.

I don't think people don't believe it's a problem. I think they're concerned that the "cure" is going to be worse than the disease and that's a legitimate concern. I personally think it's a smaller problem than we initially worried that it would be. I also think we need to start letting businesses open and get people back to work, which we can probably do by taking a few simple precautions.

So far the reactionaries have won the battle and they're just as stubborn as the opposite extreme. And anyone who disagrees with them IS the opposite extreme, to them there's nothing in between. Doctors all over the country are saying we've gone too far - ICUs are well below capacity but hospital revenues are WAY down and doctors, nurses, PAs are all furloughed because no elective procedures are occurring. Domestic violence, child abuse are up 45%+, alcoholism, depression are all problems that aren't being addressed, cancer patients can't get treatment. And that's just the healthcare sector. never before in the history of epidemics have we quarantined the healthy and there's a growing body of evidence that suggest it wasn't the right thing to do.

I might not agree with you on the big picture entirely but at least you're smart enough to know why people are getting laid off/furloughed. I'm done explaining to people that think the virus is a hoax because "hospitals wouldn't lay people off if they were so overwhelmed".

I thought I was a twitter loser - you’re way more pitiful than me!

I’ve always read way more than I post and I don’t really read much anymore. I used to use it for financial news but my job is much different than the one I had when I used twitter for news. Plus breaking news almost never hits twitter first anymore. Now my feed is almost 100% political commentary that's not very interesting. My friends are either not on it or they use it like I do. Plus Jack Dorsey is a giant douche and a total hypocrite. Twitter, FB and Google all suck but I still use all of them - twitter being the most useless, yet I’m too lazy to delete it.
