Back when I went in stores, I wore 2 masks. A surgical mask, because it's a better barrier material and a homemade mask, which probably didn't filter anything, but it fit really well and held the edges of the surgical mask snug.

I realized it's just an anecdote. If I made big claims extrapolating from this anecdote, it would be fair to call me out on it. But I'm not.


I think I'm pretty good about adding qualifiers like "I think" or "I suspect" when it's appropriate. I didn't portray this as anything bigger than what it is.

This is a good critique though. Anecdotes are just anecdotes and even a small survey is generally better.

That's fair. Wish we knew how to fix the death spiral of MSM and social media. I don't think it's all a coordinated plot. I think it's a need to make money, well understood principles of advertising and people's irrational instincts, ...and coordinated plotters taking advantage where they can.

I think it is a completely co-ordinated plot. A handful of corporations own the media, which hammers us with its messaging 24/7. So we can buy crap and keep them in business so it can repeat the process. Social media is equally selective about what it filters and lets pass, too.

How to fix? It?s the wrong question. The right question is: why are we giving it any attention?

My anecdote is true. Both the guy and his girlfriend are a couple idiots, but at least she got tested. And fortunately called off her visit to her parents' house for Thanksgiving. The boyfriend would've still gone & likely infected her parents.
