He once had the corporate MSM mostly favorably on his side, until he scheduled a very rare presser in August '16, then pulled a no-show and bragged about it to his supporters during campaign rallies.

The corporate MSM didn't care that he was lying to the nation, until he lied to them.


Look...if many of those reporters who attend Huck-Sanders "pressers" could avoid doing so, they would likely not ask her any questions which they already know will be answered with spin, lies, deflections, denials, projection, and strawmen. But it is their job and is what their employers expect them to do, or they will be replaced by someone who will.

If Wolf has been virally doxxed, I have little doubt that she is now getting death threats.

edit: googled and there's some guessing that people are misinterpreting the Handmaiden's Tale joke. It was a comparison to a character that sells out women, working for a bad guy, in line with the Uncle Tom joke. Saying her makeup is made of lies would be the other possibility, but that wasn't a slam on 'smokey eye' being unattractive, it was the lies thing.

I went back and watched Wolf's roast and she does not mock Sanders' looks and DOES MOCK her constant lying. The response to the event is typical of today's media on every side of every issue.

I don't think Huckabee-Sanders has said one word about her feelings being hurt. The backlash is coming from both sides - a headline today indicates the White House Correspondence Association (presumably, left leaning, mostly Trump haters) disavowed the routine. I watched the whole thing and found it vile, crude, totally inappropriate and almost completely not funny - she got some laughs but a lot more dead silence. I suppose the people who think Amy Schumer is funny might have found this entertaining.

Every president in my lifetime has told bald faced lies.

Does Trump lie more than the rest of them?

Maybe; and some of his lies are just so stupid and obvious, it's, like, "what the fuck is wrong with you man...?"

Every president in my lifetime has had a press secretary, or a few; and the biggest job of a press secretary has been to back up the president's lies.

My favorite one was Obama's Press Secretary, I forget which one, when asked at a presser about Obama's famous lie - or mis-statement - "if you like your health plan, you can keep your health plan; if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor" answered that "as powerful as the office of the presidency is, the president can not go back in time..." or some such thing...oh, no kidding?

So Sarah Sanders lies to press corp, now that's a news flash.

Now...regarding jokes about her personal appearance...SNL and Chelsea Handler, among others brazenly and commonly appearance shame her, so much so that any jokes regarding her appearance, such as comparison to a not very attractive TV character, or something about her make up - it should come as no surprise when people hear a joke that includes something about her appearance, they're going to hear appearance shaming.

I guess Michelle Wolf gave herself an out; "oh, no, Aunt Lydia is a turncoat to women that was the joke," and "oh, her perfect smoky eye was a compliment, the joke was about her lying..."

Well, maybe - but it's hard to imagine that she didn't realize it would come off as appearance shaming to many.

What is so laughable about the faux outrage is how the President of the US ...the fucking President has said so much worse about so many people, from fellow GOP candidates to members of the media and other Heads of State. He mocks women, defames minorities and calls countries "shitholes" with absolutely nothing in terms of consequences.
