***Cowboys Talk***

Very few QB I'd want throwing the ball with a big lead and Romo isn't one of them.

This week: No one is talking about the Cowboys. It's all Rangers. One analyst put it best when discussing this phenomenon....The Cowboys have become the third team in Texas behind the Mavs and Rangers. Of course this will change when the Cowboys get competent management, a good QB, and stop living off of the 90s.

That sounds like a load to me. Mavs won a title and the Cowboys are still more relevant than they will ever be....the Rangers will be the number 1 team during the post season. Regualr season and off season the cowboys dominate anything Dallas. EVERY town is like that. If the cubs were in the hunt for the world series right now they would be the "first " team in Chicago over the Bears, Bulls and anyone else.

Come on down and listen to the radio...even the announcers are shocked at the lack of Cowboy interest right now. It'll change in a month when they are the only game in town, but right now, Cowboys are third (maybe lower if you count college FB).

So the Cowboys are behind the Mavs and Longhorns right now? I'm not buyin it. Rangers, sure but ONLY because they're going to the world series. Mavs?? not a chance in hell. I guess you woulod no better than I do to your location but I gotta say I'm skeptical.

Texas is about football. Also the Cowgirls are off this week so not much going.

Oh well maybe last week, sure but as a whole over an expanded amount of time? Cowboys are #1, Longhorns #2, Mavs n Rangers tied for 3.

Didn't I just say Texas is football?

People here are skeptical of the Cowboys, Jerry, and Romo. If they had a better team, then yeah. If they start winning, then it changes quickly. Heck, I hear more about Baylor football right now (of course that has to do with their talented QB)

This is a bit anecdotal, but I do see A LOT more Longhorns gear than Cowboys gear.

That I would not know!!!

Lose late again to a AFC team and that helps the Lions....Poor Cowboy's lose with 27 second left. So funny.... Hold Brady to 20 points but lose again..

lol

Yeah, I've said it from day 1, this team just isn't that good. They have done a nice job scheme wise of getting the ball out of Romo's hands quickly to prevent the line from collapsing but they can't run,too many penalties and whenever they need a clutch stop on defense it just doesn't happen. I know it's Tom Brady and we've seen the movie before but I think he had 19 completions the entire game...last drive he goes 8 of 9 or 9 of 10 to seal it. Nobody even close to some of the plays. Dallas has a lot of work to do in the off season. Oline and RB need to be addressed as well has the secondary and d line.

Ratliff,Ware and Penn look great. Those are good spots to have players you can count on so building around them shouldn't be as difficult. We need a dominant pass rusher on the defensive end and a #1 corner. (I was impressed with Scandricks play yesterday, finally)They also need to get somebody who can make a difference at safety. Doesn't have to be a stud but the Dallas safeties are too responsive instead of proactive and making plays. I didn't have high expectations this year so I'm not too upset. I think the most upsetting thing is that we are about a play away in all 3 losses from winning. This is the only team I can think of in recent memory that has a losing record after 6 weeks and you feel like they could just as easily be undefeated.

EDIT: I did like what I saw from D.Murray though, he could be a good back but he'll need help. I'm about done with Felix and Choice is a good change of pace but he doesn't get in enough to get a rhythm and doesn't play well enough when he's on limited touches.

Cowboy scuttlebut for the week: Jerry Jones does not trust Jason Garrett or Tony Romo...

Has sounded like Jerry trusts Romo but was pissed that Jason didn't Sunday. Just the way I've seen it. I read an interview where Jerry said "At the end of the game we need the ball in the hands of our playmaker. We didn't do that Sunday."

That is the way it sounded to me, but the media is focusing on both Garrett and Romo. But, can't blame Garrett...just don't know what Romo is going to do and he had the lead.

I'm torn. Obviously you know my philosophy..let Romo throw. He makes mistakes but he's not Jay Cutler out there. I just don't like when the 4th quarter comes and the ask him to throw every down. 2nd n 7, I wanna throw. Garrett was forced to run on 3rd down after that penalty..I don't think that had anything to do with Romo. 3rd and 15 or whatever it was, you're running the ball most of the time with a leade and under 2 minutes in your own territory regardless of who the other teams qb is. I really don't think you can blame Garrett now that I think about it..

With a lead

1st and 10- RUN (most teams would)

2nd and long- RUN (you could go either way, no reason Murray can't rush for 4-10 yards there.)

3rd and very long- RUN (most people would)

4th and long- you punt (obvious choice)

On the road...at Foxboro...defense playing well enough...and Romo with a habit of throwing INTs at the wrong moment...he did not do anything wrong. If Brady does not wake up, it is not an issue.

I know if the Lions were in the same situation, with Brady about to get the ball , I'd want Safford to throw on 3rd and 15.
