Detroit Tigers
One change for Detroit's ALCS roster from the Division Series -- Danny Worth has replaced Delmon Young.

Thanks Protege,
I posted about Danny Worth on his way from Lakeland yesterday, it was just a matter of which player he was replacing, Young, Betemit, or Santos.
too bad about Young, we will see plenty of Raburn out in leftfield now with the rangers lefthanders.

Yeah I was hoping it would be to replace Betemit not Young after all the reports that he was doing well. Comes as a surprise to a lot of people so far after the earlier reports.

Also, Baseball's rules dictate that an injured player who is not available when rosters are set cannot be added later in the series.

Rules also stipulate that a player who becomes injured during a playoff series and is replaced on the roster cannot play in the ensuing series.

Does this sounds like he will not be allowed to play if the Tigers get to the next round the World Series.
edit with confused, now the freep is saying he can return to the World Series. But these oblique injuries can sometimes take weeks to heal.

A POSSIBLE good thing out of this is that it seems "according to some at least" that Leyland is exploring the idea of hitting Cabrera 3rd and VMart 4th in this series now with Young out.

Damn it... GO MUDHEN!!!!!!!!!!! SMASH THE BALL AND USE TWO HANDS!!!!!!!

Personally I think they need to hit Avila 3rd, get him going best way to do so is hitting in front of Miggy

Yeah I was wondering about this myself. I am going to have to look into it whether or not he would be available for the WS.

Screw that... Although I agre with you I would think outside the box and use my best hitter batting third... Get Cabrera more at bats...
I would bat Miguel third and Victor fourth.... Move everyone one up and put the stiffs at the bottom of the line-up...

Also, moving Cabrera up to third and Martinez to cleanup would help, but Leyland never did all year. and Cabrera led off an inning about 180 times during the year, 2nd inning and later in the game.
Leyland's 'pal' larussa has Pujols batting third with berkman and holliday following him.

I know Jim will not do it... he is so stubborn..

Yeah batting Avila 3rd after a 1 for 16 in the ALDS especially considering the Rangers are starting 3 left handed starters this series probably wouldn't be the best of ideas right now.

Yeah the problem right now is that Young had the same injury earlier in the year when he was still with Minnesota and he missed 19 games so he might just be done for the remainder of the playoffs.

But everything I am hearing right now are just saying he is out of the ALCS and not out the remainder of the playoffs so I have no idea right now what were looking at with him.

Well..that sure as hell doesn't help the Tigers cause, at least not at the plate...plus not having Boesch in the postseason either...dammit!!

I think like KC said there is a rule in MLB that if you get replaced in one series you have to sit out the next series too.. We need to check this?
