Game Thread at 4.

Sometimes you can't see the forest through the trees. I looked right through Cabrera moved up to 3rd in the lineup. I was so used to seeing him bat cleanup. Leyland is pulling out all stops for better or worse depending on how we feel about the lineup switch.

Nice he actually did put Cabby in the 3 hole tonight.

There's nothing good about that at all.

Cabrera 4rth, Martinez 5th was the best thing about Jim's line ups.

Not when you factor in whom he could he hit in front of them tonight. In putting Cabrera in the 3 hole and VMart in the 4 slot your getting your 2 best hitters more AB.

If not Cabrera in the 3 hole tonight your looking at Santiago, Raburn in the 2/3 slot? Much rather see him line it up as he has tonight especially considering the numbers against Texas this year I posted above.

Cabrera was relatively absent gainst the Yankees. If he gets back into form, Tiges should be able handle the loss of Young.

Well it was pretty obvious that it was the Tigers' pitching, which was either their mostly superb (SP/SU/CL) or their mostly downright awful middle-relief, that got them to advance to the ALCS-AL Pennant, so it looks like we're gonna need them to come through yet again in these games. Hopefully the fact that the Rangers don't grind out their ABs "as much" as the Yanks, their MR will greatly improve.

this. hit maggs 3rd, he's been really hot and can still hit LH pitching. or hit maggs 2nd and raburn 3rd. either way.

Ajax
Raburn (less chance of jimmy bunting in the 1st inning)
Maggs
Miggy
Vmart
Peralta
Avila
Inge
Santiago

I don't want to rehash an old discussion. If you are interested, you can search out the batting order thread, it was a good one.

Anyone else see this little bit of ironic deja-vu that could take shape this postseason, ala the postseason '06, as the Tigers as CD champs had to win vs the Yankees again to advance to the ALCS, BUT it took the full five games, one more than in '06 to do it this time, and not as a WC. They will play the ALWD champions again, but the Rangers instead of the A's, who swept the ALCD champion Twins in their ALDS in '06, but the Rangers ALSO had to win one more game vs the WC-clinching Rays, 3 games to 1.

The Cardinals, who were NLCD champions in '06, instead are the WC-winners, so if they beat the Brewers in the NLCS, then they might play the Tigers, if the Tigers win their ALCS vs the Rangers, in the '11 World Series, and the Cardinals will instead be the WC team that made it to the WS like the Tigers had in '06...wow!!

Then why bring it up knowing we all have different opinions on it :)

Shouldn't you be giving Leyland some credit here, not taking it for yourself. Three times.

I was just guessing and happy to be right for a change.... Jeezz.... Plus i hit the modify button instead of the quote button that is the reason for the multiple post... Not sure but you always look to criticize posters Art..... I guess it is your stick...... Nice work Jim... Glad you you decided to Bat Miguel third... Still I would prefer delmon playing though...

You just constantly give him shit, say he should do something, but say he won't because he never adjusts...he adjusts, and not a word about it.

About 10% of my posts on here have been critical of people, sorry a handful have been you, but what are you gonna do.

Hey I wanted him to bat Miguel third a long time ago... I have not said anything bad about Jim the second half... Only thing that drove me crazy this year is sticking with Inge, and Raburn to long in the first half of the season.. I like how revisionist history has Leyland pulling all the right buttons the whole season... My god Raburn was terrible his first 90 games and Inge was just plain terrible... But hey jim finally started to use RR right the second half... Mostly verses LHP. Glad it worked... Oh wait.. I was a tad mad at jim for resting guy's and lossing home field.... Anyway like I have mentioned before i don't understand why people get mad at questioning a mangers decision... Nothing wrong with it.... But anyway all is good and your ok Art.......I can't be to made at tiger fan's because were all in this together win or lose!!!!!!!!!

Oh and I don't constantly give jim shit... You must mean another poster...Because i only give jim shit 20% of the time...

Maybe I've just happened to see a bunch of that 20%, but you were calling him stubborn right in this thread, which seems like a criticism to me....but you're right...this is no time to be arguing. Go Tigers!!

Well I said that because after we found out Young was out i mentioned now it would be a good time to bat Miguel third to get him more at bats.. We had this debate long and hard on the old ESPN board... some like it and some don't... I just assumed Jim being the way he is would just bat Raburn third and stay the same.. That is why i said stubborn... But Jim proved me wrong.... I hope it works... But I would be lying to you if i thought i=he would do it.. I just posted that line-up wishing he would.... Never thought he would...
Very interesting and i hope Raburn delivers too.. He may be a bad fielder but he can mash lefty's when he is on...

Off to my dad's house..... Take care everyone.....

Go tigers!!!!!!!!!

i am so jacked up....
