Delmon Young

Baseball Reference, ESPN = -0.2 (oWAR = 0.3)

Delmon Young is 11th of 14 DHs with at least 150 PAs in Runs Created per 27 outs.

I thought he was talking oWAR since DY doesn't even play in the field anymore.

He was in the field twice this week. For the season, the amt he has been in the field has still negatively impacted this team even though it hasnt been a ton since he started getting DHed.

You are right.....he hasn't had much of a negative impact defensively since he has been DH. The guy that seems to get a free pass is BB. He has a negative dWAR and oWAR. I can't stand him and I hope he is gone next year!

As much as we bash on Young he was the better choice then Kelly last night to play.... Although I heard the pregame radio show with Smokey Leyland and he said DY came up to him and said he has struggled with Masterson in the past and Jim said he likes a player to be honest with him and that is why he was benched... The numbers...

ugh, boesch shouldnt even be on the roster let alone hitting friggin 5th.

I have said this a few times...when your bench consists of the likes of Santiago, Laird, Worth, and Kelly.....you have no pinch hitters and/or someone who can come off the bench a tie the game on 1 swing of the bat. And there isn't anyone close in the minors that fit this bill.

Infante and Sanchez have been a bust so far and we traded away some nice trade pieces to get them.

They have definitely done nothing to put the Tigers over the top!

Last 3 starts for Sanchez has been good.

But it was going to be a bust anyway unless he signed long term. Trading away a top prospect for a rental is always a bust unless you get a WS trophy out of it.

Did Detroit Tigers' Delmon Young ask not to start Tuesday? Jim Leyland called it 'a mutual decision'.

Leyland: Sitting Delmon last night was my decision.

I good and healthy Raburn could be a one swing option, although he hasn't been either this year. I agree with Sanchez and Infante. I never liked Infante. I always see him as a guy who could just as well hit .240 (like he is doing with the Tigers) b/c of his free swinging ways. Anibal hasn't been bad as of late, his last 4 starts will determine what he means to the team. He needs to produce wins.

I think he's worthy of a roster spot, but for sure not hitting 5th... And btw your avatar pic is awesome! I'm going to go watch some Trigun now. TY sir.

Once again, he falls into a 1-2 count and the has a single... Damn, he has to be the best 1-2 hitter I've ever seen. He is always 1-2, and hit's .270...
