Detroit Lions DL Damon Harrison named PFF's Run Defender Of The Year

at the time, he was obviously worth a 3rd. That's how the trade market works. If there are desperate teams, they drive up the market.

If you go back to the Tate trade thread, I thought it was a good move. I'm not taking anything away from him...he got market value because there were two teams that were desperate. Those two teams created the market. It wasn't a theft, it was market value at the time.

Just before he was traded, articles were coming out that Tate was going to go for a 4th or 5th but the Lions were asking for a 3rd. We did not get market value for him at all. We got more than we should have. The Lions bamboozled the Eagles on this deal. I don't care what anyone says but he's 30 yrs old that's not even a #1 option. He also became a #3 in Detroit behind MJones and Golladay. It was a genius move...

90+ catches every year is worth a 3rd. With a future contract it was a trade we had to make and I'm glad they did but to say he's not worth a 3rd is ridiculous.

90 catches - so fucking what?? Where did that get us??

It was a great move. But they didn't "bamboozle" the Eagles. The Eagles are in line to get a 3rd round compensatory pick for Tate when he leaves for free agency.

So what if they're getting a comp pick? Completely irrelevant. Tate wasn't worth a 3rd.

actually, he is worth a 3rd. The Eagles are getting a 3rd for him and the Lions got a 3rd for him. That is the actual definition of what something is worth.

Lmao. No, he's not worth a 3rd. Only reason the Eagles are getting a 3rd back is because of playing time. So again, you get destroyed in this argument. Eagles and the Patriots were 150% desperate at the time and they had to offer a higher pick because of it. In reality, Tate is/was worth a 4th or a 5th. 30+ yr old slot receiver asking for more money than he's worth? Collingsworth and Michaels were raving about it after Tate made that game winning catch. Collingsworth was talking about how Philadelphia got dragged through the mud because they gave up a 3rd. Philly fans and/or media were not thrilled with the move. That's the definition of fucking reality.

haha...I give you what actually happened (Philly actually giving a 3rd, NE offering a 3rd, and then Philly, in turn, getting a 3rd back) that's fucking reality.

Let's say you are selling a house. Two people offer you $200K for the house. Nobody else offers you more. You accept $200K. Then, the next year, that guy sells that same house for $200K. Guess what, your fucking house is worth $200K!

It's the same with Tate. Maybe you or some other people thought that he was worth a 4th round pick. But NE (SB runner up and perennial SB champ) and Philly (defending champ) both thought he was worth a 3rd, and so did Detroit.

Also, those Philly fans are stupid. They didn't realize that they were getting him for the rest of the season for basically nothing. They give up a 3rd and get a 3rd back when he leaves for free agency.

Dude, stop being fucking retarded. Your house scenario is moronic. The ONLY reason why the Eagles are getting a 3rd back is because of the snaps Tate got. He played enough snaps for Philadelphia to get a 3rd back. Philly fans are not stupid. Those snaps were never guaranteed....

That's not how you get a comp., it's how many snaps he gets next season and how much he gets paid. Plus it depends on how much else they lose or gain in FA. Nothing to do about the current season.

Projected 2019 draft..

Philadelphia Eagles

Projected compensatory picks: Round 4; two in Round 6.
Key free-agent losses: TE Trey Burton (Bears), DT Beau Allen (Buccaneers), CB Patrick Robinson (Saints), RB LeGarrette Blount (Lions), K Caleb Sturgis (Chargers).

Key free-agent additions: LB Corey Nelson (Broncos), DT Haloti Ngata (Lions).

The skinny: Vinny Curry was a cap casualty, so he won't count as a free-agent loss in the compensatory formula, but even without him, the Eagles lost five likely qualifiers while adding just two.

I just read the damn article lol. Tate played enough snaps (Detroit and Philadelphia) in order for the Eagles to get a 3rd rd comp pick if he doesn't re-sign with the Eagles and if the Eagles DO NOT sign a WR. For 2020, yes

I was pretty happy with getting a 3rd for a half year rental... but it was dumb cause we could have pushed for a playoff spot and this move completely killed our offense.

It's not just snaps (2019-20 snaps btw), it's his new contract as well. So read some more. That's the way comps work.

I didn't say it was just snaps you fucking momo lol. Your comprehension is the equivalent of a fucking 5 yr old. My god....

You said exactly that and you said it was based on this season which it's not. Why can't you admit you were wrong on this.
