This. I don't think he makes our team significantly better. Would have rather spent that money on a DE or S.

We did. Last year. Jason Jones and Glover Quin. And drafted two DEs. And added a safety this year.

I don't know why everyone just disregards players already on the team. We didn't have to go crazy spending on DE or S.

Who's talking about a vet DE? There are several ways they could have went, I just prefer to go defense.

Well there is still a draft for a talented safety. Carey could still beat out that rookie too though. Or it could be Isa Abdul Quddus as the number 3. He has starting experience with the Saints. And Carey did solid at safety in 2012. He sucked at nickel back this year after the Bears game.

Yep... all we need now is one devastating Stafford sack to open the season, and we're on the path to becoming the first franchise to have TWO 0-16 seasons.

No. the difference in talent level from the 0-16 team to this team, even -Stafford, is enormous!!!

Now, I admit we would have trouble winning games, but even if Stafford went down on the first play of the season, we'd still win 6-7 games.

7 games with orlovsky....one of the more homerish comments ive heard on this board in years. Considering we just won 7 with Stafford with one of the easier schedules in the nfl in the worst division in football. might as well start orlovsky and cut Stafford then and save the 90 mil.

Teams win and lose games.....not just QB's.

This will be a 10-11 win team with Stafford......a 6-7 win team without him.

They can be a 10-11 win team with Stafford but he needs to be more efficient. If he plays like last year they will win 7-9 games.

Agreed.

I think he'll be better this year. I think we have coaches in place now that will teach him how to be successful and won't tolerate the mistakes that Jimmy did.

Schwartz was so full of himself he convinced himself that NOTHING was wrong with Staff.

I agree that the coaches will want to teach him how to be successful but the $1 million question is will Stafford change?

Depends on what they ask of him, I guess.

They drafted a gunslinger, a guy in the Favre mold, who is going to throw some picks. It's gonna happen. If they ask him to tone it down a little and help him with his footwork but still take his shots, I think he'll work hard and try to make the adjustments.

If they ask him to be Joey "dumpdown" Harrington and dink and dunk all game and not take shots downfield.....then he'll probably say "F OFF".....as he should do in that situation.
