Matt Patricia said Marvin Jones is "fine" but they are going to be cautious with him (like they would in any situation in training camp). He was hurt yesterday in camp.
Matt Patricia said Nevin Lawson missed practice Saturday due to a "personal reason." Wouldn't say if he'll be out there today when practice starts in a couple minutes.

Matt Patricia, in his first padded practice, is running a version of the Oklahoma drill. Two guys lie down, get up at the same time and then the ball carrier tries to run past the defender. This is an intense drill ? definitely part of what Patricia is trying to instill.
LeGarrette Blount walking into the locker room with trainers. Wasn't clear what happened, but was getting attention on the sideline before went to locker room.
Detroit Lions quote of the day from punter Sam Martin, who put three straight punts stopped inside the 10-yard line. When asked if the final one hit the goal-line or not (it was close), he laughed: "Stopped right on the inch line, son. Write it up."
Theo Riddick, as he has done so often during his career, made a quick cutback after catching a pass from Matthew Stafford in a red zone period, completely faking out the linebacker to get into the end zone. It was reminiscent of Riddick at his best and was one of the biggest highlight plays of a mostly physical, downhill day.
