Pride Of Detroit Lions First Byte Lions Preview Podcast: Talking Packers with Thane Goetz. 30 minutes.
Breaking down the Lions? Week 5 matchup with the enemy from Packer land.

The Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers rivalry may be more lopsided as of late, but the games have produced some extremely memorable moments. Whether it be the shanked kick that finally broke the Lions? winless streak in Lambeau or Detroit?s pummeling of the Packers on Thanksgiving, or absolutely no other memories, the Lions and Packers always seem to put on a show.

So to help break down this week?s matchup between the two NFC North foes, we grabbed Pack To The Future?s Thane Goetz to discuss everything that?s going on with the Packers right now. What?s wrong with Aaron Rodgers and the offense? How good is this young secondary? Who the hell can catch passes for this offense given the myriad of injuries?

Is Matthew Stafford criticism 'ridiculous'? Matt Patricia thinks so.

Matthew Stafford doesn't care about Ndamukong Suh's saying Jared Goff is the best QB he's played with.

Matt Patricia, asked about Boomer Esiason's comments that he needs to hold Matthew Stafford more accountable. He called the whole topic "ridiculous." Then said he's blessed to have Matthew Stafford as his quarterback.

Matt Patricia's entire defense of Matthew Stafford against Boomer Esiason's comments that Patricia needs to hold Stafford more accountable: "I think the good thing for me is that I don't listen to anything really outside of our building because it doesn't matter and it doesn't really affect us because people don't really know what goes on inside this building, which is how I like it and I enjoy that part of it because it is private to us.

I think the only thing I'll say on this whole ridiculous topic is just I'm very blessed and lucky to have Matt Stafford as my quarterback and everybody else in the league would be in the same boat. He's a phenomenal quarterback.
He's a great leader. He's certainly the heartbeat of our team. He's a great guy to be around.

We're grinding through this thing every single day, trying to get ready for an opponent, it's great to be able to have a quarterback that as a head coach I can go to at any point in time and say, ‘Hey, what do you think about this or what does this look like to you?' Loves the game. Loves to talk football. Always trying to get better. Competitive. So I don't know what else you can ask for?"

Detroit?s WRs rank 7th in the NFL per PFF.
The Lions wideouts are good, but not top-five worthy according to PFF.

You?ve probably seen it by now, but the Detroit Lions? trio of receivers have done something this year that no other team can claim: Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones Jr. and Golden Tate have all surpassed 50 yards in all four games this season.

But do the Lions have the best receivers in the league? According to Pro Football Focus, they aren?t even in the top five through the first quarter of the season. PFF ranked all 32 teams by wide receiver group, and the Lions came in at seventh overall, behind the Vikings, Rams and among others.

PFF had some eye-opening stats about Golladay?s season thus far. ?Second-year wideout Kenny Golladay has had an excellent start to the season, ranking among the league?s top-10 in both explosive plays (11) and contested catches (five),? according to the advanced stats site.
