RED ZONE SLANT A STRONG CHOICE FOR LIONS
Golden Tate runs the slant, and the No. 2 receiver makes the outside cut. The result? A wide open target for Matthew Stafford near the end zone. Unstoppable plays for all 32 teams.
(EspnInsider)

Dan Orlovsky and Jake Rudock are throwing passes to receivers in early warm ups, not Matthew Stafford. Could be yet another indication Stafford won't play tonight. There's little reason for Detroit to play him vs. Buffalo.

A lot of Lions usual starters getting cardio work in, including Darius Slay, Glover Quin and Golden Tate.

The following 27 Bills players will not play tonight in Detroit: RBs LeSean McCoy, Reggie Bush, Mike Gillislee, Jonathan Williams; FB Jerome Felton; WRs Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, Marquise Goodwin; TE Charles Clay; OL Cordy Glenn, Richie Incognito, Eric Wood, John Miller, Jordan Mills; DL Marcell Dareus, Kyle Williams, Corbin Bryant; LBs Jerry Hughes, Preston Brown, Zach Brown, Lorenzo Alexander, Brandon Spikes; CBs Stephon Gilmore, Ronald Darby, Nickell Robey-Coleman; Ss Aaron Williams, Corey Graham.

Don't know how much he'll play but Ameer Abdullah is dressed for the Lions tonight. No sign of Theo Riddick. Would not be surprised if he does not play.

Lions team owner Martha Ford here, as usual. She just took her golf cart out on to the sideline to chat with her family, team president Rod Wood and general manager Bob Quinn.

Make that 28 players out for the Bills tonight in Detroit. Team just added QB Tyrod Taylor to its players who will not play vs. Lions.

Matthew Stafford is dressed tonight for the Lions. Don't necessarily expect him to play much, if at all.

Theo Riddick popped out late and is dressed but don't expect him to play much for the Lions. I don't see Eric Ebron in the tight end line so that means he's not dressing more than likely.

The Lions have upgraded their sound system at Ford Field, provided by Meyer Sound. The system has 80 separate speakers in four clusters. They are so loud you can't totally understand when players are speaking on the big screen.

The Lions cheerleaders are here for the first time and, well, they are wearing name tags. Can't recall ever seeing a team's cheerleaders on any level wearing name tags but I could be wrong. Was told they are not in actual uniforms tonight. Detroit implemented cheerleaders for the first time this season.

Lions S Glover Quin shaking hands of a bunch of kids on the sidelines as the team comes out.

Dan Orlovsky getting start for the Lions. No expected offensive starters out there. Jay Lee and Andre Roberts the WR, Dwayne Washington the RB.

Kerry Hyder, he of the $18K fine earlier this preseason, has two sacks tonight for the Lions. Lions DL had two sacks and a TFL last drive. Zettel/Hyder sacks, Reid TFL. Hyder got the start tonight, too. Not saying he's making the roster but perhaps that's a closer battle than initially thought at reserve DE with Brandon Copeland and Anthony Zettel.
