Detroit Lions - Team Notes

Lions DC Teryl Austin said the linebacker injuries last week in-game could sometimes affect what he calls. Didn't stray too far from game plan, but it makes a difference.

Lions DC Teryl Austin clearly doesn't think there is anything wrong with Aaron Rodgers. Feels he ran into a good defense in Minnesota last week.
Teryl Austin said he doesn't think scouting report on Rodgers changed. He's still extremely accurate.
Teryl Austin on Aaron Rodgers Hail Mary throw: "It was basically a javelin throw."

Jim Bob Cooter has not tried to trademark his name. He laughed pretty hard when he said that, too.
Lions OC Jim Bob Cooter said last year's win at Green Bay "meant a lot to me." Said it started everything for their successful second half of last season.

Jim Caldwell said you have to do what suits your defense when it comes to defending Aaron Rodgers. Minnesota blitzed him a lot.

Sam Shields, who sustained his fourth concussion in the last six seasons, underwent an examination by an off-site specialist this week to help determine the severity of the cornerback?s head injury.

DeAndre Levy, Ezekiel Ansah and Antwione Williams all not at open portion of practice for the Lions on Thursday. Kyle Van Noy, Tyrunn Walker, Wallace Gilberry, Eric Ebron and Riley Reiff were all back. And Williams eventually came out, sans helmet, and jogged on the side.

All three evaluators polled by Mike Sando sided with the home team in this one, with Detroit's rash of injuries to key players being a primary reason.
