The Lions rank 31st in adjusted line yards, or the running game production cleared out by a line before a running back meets contact, per Football Outsiders.

The interior of the line appears to struggle the most in the running game, as they are 29th in yards generated off the left tackle, 31st in yards between the guards and 25th in yards off the right tackle, per Football Outsiders.
Meanwhile, they are 16th in yards off the left end and 15th off the right end, thanks to some gashing runs by Ameer Abdullah.

Almost a third of the Lions' run plays are ending in zero or negative yards, which is tied with the Los Angeles Chargers for the most in the league. Lions running backs are averaging just 0.61 yards before contact, according to Pro Football Focus.

In pass blocking, the Lions have allowed the 18th-most sacks but have an adjusted sack rate that ranks 29th in the league. Stafford has been hurried or hit on 88 of his 173 drop-backs so far, or roughly half.
