Detroit Lions - Team Notes

Corner Nevin Lawson is going back to Detroit 2 yr-10.3M.
The Lions have re-signed CB Nevin Lawson to a two-year deal worth $10.3 million, a source confirmed to ESPN. Lawson's return means the Lions have essentially the same secondary as last year, minus D.J. Hayden, who Lawson split time with at corner last year.

Details of LS Don Muhlbach's contract with the Lions: 1 year, $1.015 million base salary. Cap hit of $720,000. Roster bonus of $90,000 -- $45,000 of it guaranteed on March 16. Another $45,000 paid if he is on the 53-man roster for at least one game this season. No signing bonus.

The Lions are not expected to tender punter Kasey Redfern, an exclusive rights free agent, at the 4 p.m. deadline today, a source tells ESPN. Redfern made Detroit's roster last year with Sam Martin on the NFI list and had his season end after tearing his ACL and MCL in the season-opener against Arizona.
This also means Detroit will be looking for another camp leg to take pressure off kicker Matt Prater and punter Sam Martin in offseason workouts.

Details of Nevin Lawson's two-year deal with the Lions: $9.2 million, $4.55 million guaranteed, $2.25 million signing bonus. 2018: Cap hit $3.9 million. $2.3 million base salary fully guaranteed; $400,000 roster bonus ($25k per game on 46-man roster); $100,000 workout bonus; $550,000 in not likely to be earned incentives tied to playing time. 2019: Cap hit $5.275 million. $2.4 million base salary. $1.65 million roster bonus ($1.25 million due third day of league year; $25k per game on 46-man roster); $100,000 workout bonus. Up to $550,000 in not likely to be earned incentives.
