Detroit Tigers Team Notes Over 3 Million Views!!! Thankyou!

Scherzer's high Ks(11.2/9) and high ERA (5.88) are unprecedented: highest ERA ever for pitcher with 10K+/9IP is Morrow's 4.72ERA last year.

Of the 61 starters with 10K+/9IP in history, only 3 had an ERA over 4.00. Morrow, plus Hideo Nomo twice (thanks to BB-ref).

Tigers fall 6G below .500 at 25-31, are 7-15 last 22G at home....have won just 2 of last 15 series.

June 7 in Tigers history:

1908 - The Detroit Tigers turn a triple play against the Boston Red Sox for the second day in a row, but Boston wins. The two tri-killings in two games is a unique major league record.

2004 - The Tigers draft Justin Verlander in the first round of the amateur draft. A pitcher from Old Dominion, Verlander signs a deal with the Tigers in October and makes his first big league start the following July. By 2006 Verlander is contributing to the Tigers and helping them to the American League pennant. Verlander had a year for the ages in 2011 with a 24 and 5 record, while leading the league in Strikeouts, earned run average, and several other pitching categories.
