Tigers salvage one vs. Tribe - take finale, 7-5. 7 runs early, then hang on - strand potential tying runs in sc. position in both 7th & 8th.

Tigers jumped on D. Lowe for 4R in first on 5 singles + WP...added 3R in 4th on Boesch line drive dbl, and Cabrera 2-run HR to RF.

Cabrera last 26G: .386, 6HR, 27RBI. Fielder also with RBI single, his last 23G: .393 with 4HR and 21RBI.

Crosby started, looked v. good - curveball esp. sharp at times. He goes 5.1, gives up 3ER on 5H, 3BB/2K for 1st ML win.

Indians scored 2 in 6th, 2 in 7th (3 diff. relievers)...7th inning ended with Berry making leaping catch in deep CF w/ bases loaded.

Indians put runners at 2nd/3rd v. Benoit in 8th w/ 2 outs, but Benoit got Choo on popout. Valverde worked 2nd straight 1-2-3 9th for 10th Save.

Tigers go 2-4 on homestand, now hit road for 6 in Cinci and Chicago. Looks like Jackson and Fister will rejoin team during trip.

Matchups in Cinci: Porcello v. Latos (7pm), Verlander vs. Arroyo Sat (4pm), then Smyly vs. Bailey Sun night - 8pm start. On air tom. at 6:45.
