Detroit Tigers Team Notes Over 3 Million Views!!! Thankyou!

June 8 in Tigers history:

1978 - In the 12th round of the amateur draft, the Detroit Tigers select Michigan State’s Kirk Gibson. Gibson starred in football and only played baseball for one year in college, but he announces his attention to focus on baseball.

1983 - Lou Whitaker has a career high 11 total bases as he gets two doubles, a triple, and a home run. He thus misses the cycle by a single in the Tigers 6 - 3 win over boston.

2001: Damion Easley becomes the 9th Detroit Tigers player to hit for the cycle, and the first since 1993 when Travis Fryman accomplished the feat. Detroit beats Milwaukee 9 - 4.
