Detroit Tigers Team Notes Over 3 Million Views!!! Thankyou!

Tigers remain interested in Cubs righty Ryan Dempster – who, by the way, is still scheduled to pitch tonight.
Dialogue on Ryan Dempster remains heaviest with Dodgers. But there’s time for another team to put together an overwhelming offer.
If Cubs trade Ryan Dempster to Dodgers they are likely to get one or two young arms in return. Chicago focus is pitching.

Tigers' goal on trade market remains a difference-making starting pitcher. Not sure they'll be able to get one.
Shields makes sense for Tigers, but while many rival teams think he can be had, Rays apparently telling teams,"Not yet".

Leyland said Alburquerque threw all out the other day, felt a little tender next day which is normal. Said he's doing ok.

Leyland said still no plan on Dirks' rehab after recent little setback.

Leyland said Boesch is tracking the ball better, has been doing a drill with McClendon and Harrah. thankyou Toby.

Smyly: I feel like I'm only a day or two away from playing catch.

Andy Dirks could begin rehab assignment next week. Al Alburquerque closing in on rehab as early as this month. Drew Smyly still aching.
Tigers don't believe Smyly will be a long-term loss. But stubborn intercostal (11th rib muscle) is being extra-ornery.
Daniel Schlereth chose not to have surgery to repair shoulder damage. Therapy has worked. He's back throwing bullpens at Lakeland, Fla.

Justin Verlander: 62nd straight start with at least 6 IP tonight (passes Catfish Hunter for 3rd longest streak in live ball era).

Jose Valverde ha convertido 93 por ciento de sus juegos salvados desde haber venido a los Tigres (93x100), mejor en las mayores.

I think this means that since coming to the Tigers Valverde has saved 93% of the games in save situations.

Several teams, including the Tigers and Angels, had scouts in attendance for Rays right-hander James Shields' start against Seattle today, write Jon Paul Morosi and Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The Red Sox, Yankees, Pirates, Giants, and Blue Jays also had scouts on hand, indicating that Shields could be a hot commodity as the deadline approaches.
As for Detroit, sources say that the Tigers have had interest in Shields for years and could ply him away with catching prospects Rob Brantly and James McCann. The Rays aren't necessarily shopping Shields but GM Andrew Friedman will listen to offers on him as well as Jeremy Hellickson, Alex Cobb, and Wade Davis, sources say.
