The Tigers have dropped the first four games of a 10-game trip that even they admit is critical to their postseason chances. They have lost six of seven since sweeping the White Sox at Comerica Park more than a week ago.
Overall, the Tigers have lost 15 of their last 20 road games, and they are 3-for-21 with runners in scoring position on the road trip.

Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland is team's 'biggest problem' claims former pitcher Denny McLain.

McLain said in the interview he considers Leyland a friend and mentioned that he didn't understand why Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski hasn't received more heat for the decisions he made in the front office.

McLain seemed to imply that Dombrowski built a team that doesn't lack lineup depth, forcing Leyland to make often controversial roster decisions.
"You got guys in the lineup that shouldn't be there," McLain said. "... Dombrowski gets an extension for four, five years and millions of dollars.
"I don't get it."
