Detroit Tigers Team Notes Over 3 Million Views!!! Thankyou!

Kaline,

I wish Olberman never left ESPN, I personally cannot stand how he presents his political views, and some on this board like him (which is fine) but I thought he and Patrick made a great pair on T.V. I love when he sticks to sports.

Yeah Bdemil1, I agree, they were great together...He would call him "My Tag-team Partner".

Politics aside, and I always remember what my late Uncle Charlie used to say, "Opinions are like assholes, and everbody has one", Olbermann really knows his baseball and the history of the game.
I'm just glad I came upon his blog. I will add it to all the Detroit and national sites I go to daily.

Verlander in the cage right now, working on his bunting.

Leyland says players aren't exactly eager for scrimmages, but they're handling it professionally.

You know you're headed to the WorldSeries when... Pitchers are taking BP.

Leyland: "There's no secret to my rotation. My rotation is Verlander, Fister, Sanchez, Scherzer."

Looks like Justin Verlander is getting in on the action.

Avisail Garcia: I want to thank all our fans for the kind wishes and all the support! You guys are the best!! #GoTigers #WorldSeries

Valverde pitching 1st inning in scrimmage game. And yes, he spit out his water and slapped his knee on his way in.
Inning over after Valverde hits pitch count with two outs. Two singles, a walk, a called third strike and a fielder's choice.
In fairness, I'm not sure Austin Jackson realized he was allowed to swing, which might be why he took strike three.

Danny Worth is playing 1st base. He's borrowing the glove of Don Kelly, who's playing 1st base for the other team.

Are there pro umps there?
There are no umps. I believe Avila is calling balls and strikes.

Alex Avila homers into Tigers bullpen, then peels off around 1st and heads into dugout.
RHP Drew VerHagen, gave up a HR to Avila then struck out Boesch. So that tells us nothing.

Don Kelly homers off the RF foul pole off lefty Darin Downs in Tigers scrimmage game.

Brennan Boesch has now struck out against Drew VerHagen and Joe Rogers, both guys just drafted in June.

Tigers' Jim Leyland doesn't expect many changes to World Series lineup.
from the detnews

Proposed lineup and rotation.
Leyland said the Tigers had eight advance scouts for the NLCS, four working on each team.

Leyland has gotten a kick out of the fan support over the last few days for the Tigers. Some fans have offered to pick up checks when he’s gone out to eat. Some have asked him to pose for pictures.
“It’s so nice,” he said. “I’m running into people all over.”

He said he also met one fan who came up and offered an apology to him for “being mean” to Leyland all season.
Which one of you was it????
