Detroit Tigers Team Notes Over 3 Million Views!!! Thankyou!

Doug,
Mays could/should be the GG outfielder for the National League, or even Clemente.
When the award was first started in 1957, Mays, Kaline and Minnie Minoso were the Outfielders awarded the GG. It was the only time the award was for both leagues combined.
Since 1958, it became an award for both leagues and it's players. Off the top of my head for the 1957 GG's, Frank Malzone won for 3B, Nellie Fox at 2B, Luis Aparicio at Short..maybe Bobby Shantz won for pitchers.

I was thinking this like I said a couple years back, when they had the Hank Aaron Award,
Clemente has always been in the eye of mlb since the tragic death.
it is either mlb or the BBBA something to the effect in words of the Baseball Bloggers Alliance with Jackie Robinson and Willie Mays with awards, for Rookie of the Year and/or something else for the best player at accomplishing something.

Yeah KC, I realized after I posted that MLB could name the NL's GG after Mays. Clemente would be very deserving, as would Lou Gehrig and Al Kaline in the AL for example. Tough choices, but Willie and Al would have my vote.

December 20 in Tigers and mlb history:

1921: At the Major League meetings, the American League votes to return to the best-of-7 World Series; the National League votes to keep the 5-of-9. Judge Landis casts the deciding vote, and the 4-of-7 format is reinstated.

1926 Commissioner Judge Landis meets with Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, and Smokey Joe Wood about allegations of a fixed game in 1919. Dutch Leonard, the man who leveled the accusations, does not attend out of fear that Cobb will hurt him.

1946 The Tigers released catcher Paul Richards, who will become a very successful manager.

1980 - Unless contracts are tendered to certain veterans by today's deadline, the Basic Agreement requires they be allowed to become free agents. In a major blunder, the Red Sox will miss the deadline, permitting All-Stars Fred Lynn and Carlton Fisk to be eligible for free agency.

1989 Detroit releases former ace reliever—and 1984 Cy Young Award and MVP winner—Willie Hernandez.

March Moniker Madness Field is Set.

Baseball names:
The four regions (each 128 names) are: ?Sounds Dirty?, ?Fun to Say?, ?Spelling Bee? and ?What were Mom and Dad thinking??. Some of the names could have fit in more than one category, but since we had too many ?Fun to Say? entries and not enough in the others, some entries of those ?multi-category? entries were moved to fill out the field.
The ?What were Mom and Dad thinking?? field is based on the GIVEN name (which I checked against Baseball Reference).
The ?Fun to Say? region was overloaded (over 180 entries). I had to make some tough choices to get down to 128. Please don?t be upset if your suggestion didn?t make the list.
