Both Hunter, Sanchez took less cash for '13, than '14, Sanchez substantially so -- a sign Tigers possibly have stretched payroll to max.

Tigers already are deep into financial model that suggests no deep playoff run means no profit.

That's why Tigers should be bracing for a ticket price increase, even slightly, when that's announced in spring training.

If Tigers could somehow swing a Peralta/Porcello trade for Orioles Hardy, that would save about $4M in payroll and upgrade defense.
