Do you think any team (cough...NYG maybe) would want to trade up for Jake Matthews in this scenario?

The Arizona Cardinals (since I have their pick) would be willing to trade up for Jake Matthews. Trust me, they would too.

He isn't on the team yet. There is nobody worth the #10 pick in the draft though. A safety can be acquired via free agency or later in the draft.

looks like the top 6 FA safties have signed, including my hope of m mitchell

somebody that knows how to post a poll should do it for the Lion's pick. I don't know how to do it.

they signed Valdheer

Yep, and even with Veldheer, they need help on that line. That line was absolutely abused last season, and they have an older than dirt QB taking a pounding.

Eric Winston isn't returning, so Jake Matthews becomes the immediate RT for a couple of years before sliding over to LT. Jonathon Cooper is a strength at RG. Veldheer is at LT. They still need a better C and RG even after drafting Matthews.

If I am GM of this team, and for this mock I am, I am putting a lot into my O-Line right now before drafting my next QB in round 3, likely Tahj Boyd.

Now I don't have to white knuckle ride my chair waiting for Carson to die at any minute, and if I have to go to my rookie, I don't have to worry as much about him ending up in a wheelchair before his first season is over.

Yep, I'd make that move, especially with the top two LBs off the board already.

If Evans really goes to Buffalo, it makes the pick really easy. I just hope Mayhew doesn't try to be too smart and add another OL. I like the line we have right now. They'll grow together very nicely.

It's Gilbert or a trade down...if we can find a partner.

If Gilbert was there at 10 I think it'd still prefer a trade-down. Though who would be there worth some team to trade a pick to us..if the CB is gone I have no idea who we should pick.

shouldnt this be done just before the draft? i mean with all the FA moves can change things

After FA someone should do a poll draft with each pick being voted on by the board. It would take some time but its a dead zone so we have the time.

My retort would be, who the fuck cares? Are we striving for accuracy here? Are we being judged against other Detroit fan page mocks. This, like everything else we do, is just a fun way to kill time and talk sports. Start up your own before the draft if you want to, I'll be the first to participate.
