. . . but I bet its OK to burn an American Flag in protest though, right? Doesn't matter what that "symbol" means to anyone who doesn't agree with you. Just because it symbolizes racism to you doesn't mean any more or any less than anyone else's opinion. It becomes racist because of what you believe it represents and what you are willing to spout off about it. It doesn't make the symbol any more or less racist than any other symbol.
You could take any controversial symbol, say a Christmas Tree, and have many (mostly PC nutcases) say this is an offense to every Muslim that has ever lived.
. . . and it will become an offensive symbol, because enough people believe it to be.
Same is true for the swastika. It boils my blood to see anyone use it for anything, because of what it means to me. I am not ashamed to say it, but I know what I am doing - I am not na?ve about the use of any symbol.
I highly doubt the others on this board are any more na?ve than you, but when you let everything be run by emotion, it is bound to happen.
