Eagles release Chip Kelly

Two 10-6 seasons and a playoff loss followed up by 7-9 would get you a banner and an extension in Detroit.

My biggest problem with Chip is trying to understand wtf his philosophy is exactly? Youd think guys like Desean, Maclin and McCoy would be perfect for his fast paced, get down the field, offense. I did hear Madisch say on ESPN radio today that he brought the bigger bodied slot receiver to the NFL...which will stick in his opinion. With that said...Jordan Matthews didn't really do shit this year compared to the year Maclin had last. Murray obviously didn't fit....I think he was kind of a last second band aid to be honest when he missed on Gore.

Again..Didn't really understand the plan exactly....but whatever it was it didn't work.

I also remember he got rid of one expensive RB, his reason to cut cost, only to get an just as expensive one. And McCoy was doing fine in Philly. Not sure why he did all that.

Would it though?! Deeeerrrrrrrrp

Yes. Yes it would. It's unbelievable that it was a 90 year old woman that finally brought some sanity to the front office.

It's called being realistic. They thought Galleo was bashing the earth when he said it revolved around the sun.

What's realistic? The past is the past. New regime coming in. It's like constantly being reminded by your wife that you ****ed up 6 months ago. It gets tiresome lol

But you spelled Galleo wrong. Galileo ...you're welcome ;)

If the Lions were my spouse I would have divorced it a long time ago, but unfortunately because it's something important like a football team I've made a life long commitment.

I think his plan was to go all in draft night on Mariota. After that failed, everything following was a disaster.

I don't have a whole lot to say about Kelly. I was pretty vocal he was the wrong hire when the Eagles made it, and I don't feel any differently three years later.

I am sure the man will learn from his mistakes, and his next owner/GM will not give him control of personnel, as that was a disaster.

That having been said, if Detroit fires Caldwell, I really hope Kelly is not on the docket for an interview. There will be some good coaches out there this year, and you can have your pick of proven winners.

For my money, I like Coughlin. Two Superbowl rings, good track record. He's no Belichick, but he's a damned sight better than any coach we've seen in my lifetime. Pagano would be another good one for me.

Indy had a tough year, but in the final week, they could still make the playoffs on a team where their longest tenured active QB was signed 10 days ago. That's a testament to a team still competing, despite the injuries, albeit in a very bad division.

Think Tom Moore is too old for a HC gig? Maybe Hue Jackson, Cincinnati Bengals. He has some coaching experience. Did okay at Oakland.

What people fail to realize or talk about when discussing Chip is these so called "stars" that he let go all had career years under him. Jackson, McCoy and Maclin, all good players but were great and enjoyed career years when coached by Chip.

Chip was/is a good coach that runs a proven successful NFL system. Now his GM ability is a different story.

Great, pair him with Trent Baalke!
