Ebron and Pettigrew 91 plays.

dare I say a match up nightmare!!! lol

All jokes aside, Pittsburgh seems to have had 2 good WRs for a long time now. Every time they lose a WR to free agency/retirement, someone else has already been drafted or groomed for the #2, and the #2 steps up to #1.

Ward/Burress
Ward/Wallace
Wallace/Brown
Brown/Bryant

Not to mention the solid WRs of Santonio Holmes and Antwan Randle-El.

All draft picks, no free agents.

and Emmanuel sanders. My god it would be nice to have a GM like that instead of the idiot we have. The obvious other debate is if big ben made them better then Stafford ever could.

Sanders too. Damn.

Big Ben got his ass beat down for the first quarter and he didn't get happy feet. Just stood strong in the pocket and continued to do his thing. Hell, he got sacked 3 times in a row and was just like "fuck these guys" and throws 6 touchdowns. Have a bit more respect for him after last night.

Not to mention a helmet to the chin strap that looked like it messed up his jaw a little.
One tough SOB

Yeah let's drool over the 6-3 Steelers instead of the 6-2 Lions. Great job Mayhew.

I didn't realize he's had such a good year. I still don't like him but one good career he's got.

Was more of a compliment of the Steelers of the past decade rather than the Steelers of this season but if it rustles your jimmies then I'll run with it.

ties in perfectly to our standard mayhew and Stafford arguments. we have drafted just as many wrs as them. none of them pan out except CJ due to either mayhew or Stafford. Meanwhile big ben has made every single one of his WR draft picks worthwhile....and every single one of them have upped their value recieving huge contracts. We have ebron broyles and titus and d Williams.

Sorry, zero respect for him. I cannot respect a player no matter how good he is at a game when he has shown to be a very low morals person away from the game.

Zy, they are professional athletes, not role models. Most of the NFL greats, legends, and current players... do bad shit that doesn't make it to the media. Guy is a slime, but he's a great NFL player.

Let me play devils advocate a little. He was 28. Was I trying to pick up chicks in bars when I was 28...yes. if I had 2 bodyguards that could watch the door while I hooked up with a chick in the bar. ..would I use them?...yes. im not condoning rape by any means....but if it was rape...he would have been charged with that. Always seemed to me she was a jersey chaser that got what she wanted....then wanted a little extra afterwards.

Either way, a large majority of athletes do shit that would make us cringe. I'm not going to take away from what he does on the field because he's an idiot off the field. If we didn't allow these players to play in games, each team would be fielding like 2 guys.

I would rather watch a game with zero major felons than the games we watch now. It's not like football would die without criminals, but it would probably narrow the talent pool. Still, the games would be fine. As a college football fan, I've watched plenty of games with no NFL talent that were still a lot of fun.

I'm not asking football players to be saints, just to be held to the same standard as the public. If I beat my wife/kids, I'd be going to jail. If I killed a guy while driving drunk, I'd be going to jail. If I raped a girl, I'd be going to jail. Further, I'd almost assuredly lose my job and find getting a new job 100x harder in the future. No one should be excused from that just because they can throw/catch/tackle really well.

I find watching college games with no NFL talent on the rosters extremely boring.

Remember, if there's no longer a comparison for something better, it's almost impossible to judge the talent. This is reason a college teams look unstoppable during the season only to get crushed in a bowl game.

The NFL isn't going to become 2014 Michigan by removing major felons. The game would lose a handful of stars, a couple dozen starters, and a good number of teams would probably be completely unaffected. The best teams are likely still the best teams. The teams that are most likely to be covering up for their players are the mediocre to bad teams that simply can't afford to lose any player of above-average talent. The NFL would still be the highest level version of the sport, by far.

They're excused because they're wealthy and have amazing lawyers/support. It's not a football specific situation and it's been a problem long before football was ever thought of. Better get used to it.

I am used to it; it's just not my preference. I never said it was football-specific nor that it stopped me from being able to enjoy the game. I simply said I would rather watch games without such players.

Go beat the shit out of a kid with a stick and compare your sentence to the 2 years of nothing Peterson got.
