"Experts" Predictions for Bowl Game

The Tony The Tiger Bowl is a real bowl. I heard it's gonna be great.

Cheez-It Bowl exists now.

When will we get the pageantry of the Panama City Club La Vela Wet T-Shirt Contest Bowl?!

that 2010 MSU team would beat the 2019 uofm team 6 or 7 times out of 10 and the talent gap between the 2019 tide/wolverine teams is probably the same as the 2019 buckeye/wolverine talent gap, if not worse. Also, if you expect Bama kids to sit out the bowl game, shouldn't that also be the case for uofm players? Saban probably has better talent waiting in the wings then harbaugh does. I'm not saying it will be 49-7 but if that's the matchup and Alabama is favored by anything less than 3 TDs, I'd take the tide and give the points

That 2010 MSU team was trash and played an entire schedule of 7-5/8-4 teams. They had a good win against Wisconsin but didn't have to play OSU. They also lost to 7-5 Iowa (at Iowa so somewhat excusable).

And yes, I don't expect michigan to have as many impact players sit out as I do Bama. Michigan's NFL talent is 3rd round or later with the exception of maybe DPJ. Bama's NFL talent is much stronger and has a lot to lose and nothing to gain.

It's also pretty stupid to argue that the talent MSU had then compared to the talent Michigan has now is even close. Feel free to look up the class rankings from 2006-2010 where MSU's highest ranked class was number 22 and they got a grand total of 0 5 star recruits, whereas Bama's lowest ranked class was 14th in 2006. Given we can both probably agree that Bama's coaching and development is at minimum equal to Dantonio, it's pretty apparent that the gap in that game was huge.

It's a moot point though because I expect the same outcome if Don Brown is asked to defend that offense this year.

Sagarin 2019

8 Michigan A = 91.12 9 3

Sagarin 2010

31 Michigan State A = 79.28 11 2

So, no. Not even close.

Well, I was just thinking and if Harbaugh were to actually leave for the NFL, this would be the year. My take would be that if Jerry Jones went hard after him. If and I mean IF that happened, it would be really hard for Michigan to keep him. I hope it doesn't happen as I think Harbaugh has it in him to revamp things when needed to make this team better. Him turning down a Dallas offer would probably solidify to future recruits that he is here for the long haul. So any smack talk from other coaches in the future would be laughed at. Things could bode well in recruiting, since we have proof that kids were led astray with those rumors. In the event this happened and Harbaugh stayed, I dont think we ever hear this rumor again. Again this is just a thought on my part.

Carolina, IMO, would be more appealing to JH than Dallas, and David Tepper has the pockets to pay him.

Saw another projection on another board

Michigan vs Tennessee in the Taxslayer Bowl

Now wouldn't that be awesome?!?!!??!

that "trash" team had an NFL starting QB, probably the best to come out of the B1G since Brady, Jerel Worthy a first team All American defensive tackle, Greg Jones at linebacker who was first team All American and 3 time first team All B1G, 2 running backs and a handful of WRs that played in the NFL.

How many first team All Americans are on uofm's squad this year? How many RBs are going to end up getting drafted? Is Shea Patterson better than Kirk Cousins? but the recruiting rankings were higher for uofm so I guess you win even though nobody is saying the talent gap between MSU and alabama wasn't bigger or that uofm probably won't lose 49-7, in fact I said the opposite. The point is, your team's talent deficit is likely as bad or worse than it was against ohio state. And I wouldn't bank on Saban or his players not taking the game seriously or on Harbaughs ability to beat teams with better talent and coaching.

Dude, I'm not trying to talk shit here. I'm making an unbiased statement that the 2010 MSU team wasn't as good as the record suggests and they got throttled by the only good team they played. Far more scientific numbers than the ones you or I have brought up support my claim. Michigan may not have that many all Americans, I would guess that Lavert Hill is the only one that has a chance at that honor. But you're also discounting the skill position talent that Michigan has while trying to dig their QB without considering that they rely on that guy to get them the ball.

That's like me trying to make a case that Hoke's first team was somehow special when the reality is they benefitted from a weak schedule and a lot of luck.

The 2010 MSU team had an SOS of 1.29. Pretty much in the middle of the pack (51st). The 2019 Michigan team has an SOS of 7.36. Which is 1st among all FBS.

Ya, but they had Cousins and Bell and went 11-2, so they're clearly the better team.

I couldn?t even have told ya what that team?s record was, or a single player, including the two named.

Going through the annals of my memory, did that team win the first ever B1G championship game, against Ohio State, when the divisions were Leaders and Legends?

If that?s the case, I met Marilu Henner the night of that game.

I asked her her memories of October 8, 1988.

I think she said it was a Tuesday.

EDIT: Nope.

First B1G championship game was the next season, looks like.

Barely remember that season at all.

Michigan sucked.

Denard Robinson got a whole bunch of yards against crap teams and Michigan I think went six and six or something and was bowl eligible for the first and last time with dick wad as the coach.

I don?t remember anything about the Spartans that year at all, except that they probably beat Michigan.

EDIT: Or maybe it was the season after that.
