Fairley demoted to second team defense

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6492/nick-fairley

I saw him out with the twos during the preseason game too. Weird.

ya its on detroits main page on espn too. Caldwell is quoted saying he likes where fairleys weight is at and he hasn't put out a depth chart yet and not to read too much into it. Mosely also didn't have a very good day with "the 1s"

Im still all in on the get rid of fairley and suh train and save 40 mil a year. sign terrance cody for the 3-4 for 700k :D

He looked like a fat blob on Saturday. I thought he lost weight?

weight in at 295 at combine....305 at camp. not sure if its good or bad weight...all I can really see is his skinny calfs when hes in uniform.

More motivational tactics I suppose. Caldwell/Mayhew getting serious. Next level up is the poster of a cat hanging onto a wire with the caption "hang in there, baby!"

Would love to have Suh back even at the highest paid DT in the league. Just dont think he wants to come back. Saying all the right things but he could have signed by now. Dont care if Fairley has a good year or bad want him gone. Reid looked to get great penetration in the game.

We can't win with him who gives a fk. Maybe we struggle for a year if Suh's gone but in the long run I think it helps.

you know the old saying, where there's smoke there's fire...well, the fairley hype has been blowing smoke since he was drafted (which I was definitely liking when it happened), but we really haven't seen fire...more like smoldering ashes. :(

suh, meh...pretty sure it would be better to have his salary spread out amongst the entire D so that they are no longer so deficient. of course, the Lions in their infinite wisdom will just use that extra cash to provide Stafford "WEAPONS"...but I digress.

I'm all in on letting Suh walk and having that much more money to spread around. But your last point is the scary one. What if they just spend it on another offensive player. What a fucking catastrophe in the making that could be.

Suh has been good but I think we still win 7 games if he's not here..one DT shouldn't change a teams dynamic. I mean a DT shouldn't be the difference between winning and losing. Even at 13m, it's too much. We could get two very good or three quality guys for that money.

It's too early to tell since there's a lot up in the air about who will be a FA in 2015. However, grab a LB/CB/S with that money and you'll do a whole lot more for your defense than Suh will. I like Suh, I want us to keep him, but it all comes down to who we could haul in if he left.

We can have Suh and a CB.

We don't need a safety or LB with Quin/Ihedigbo, Levy,Tulloch, Van Noy.

oh I forgot...Inedigbo will be good now that he is a Lion!

Cause all the previous veteran has-beens that have come here have long thriving careers. Once you join the lions it really rejuvenates your career! /rollseyes

Ihedigbo is already donig well before coming here. And it worked for Rashean Mathis.

72nd in pass defense..it's a good thing this isn't a passing league :lmao:

When are you done with this shtick, slick?

that's only cause you think rashean mathis is a top corner in this league. Every logical person on the planet thinks the lions secondary is a weakness. Quin is above average at his position although he makes a lot of mistakes. Mathis and ihedigbo are both has-been band aids that we need to upgrade. Slay is a work in progress with a lot of potential but has done nothing but lead the league in the amount of times hes been benched.

Most people don't know jack shit about the lions. People like me know what the secondary did and know how good Mathis, Quin and Ihedigbo really are

5 big plays given up by Houston and Delmas. And now they are gone
