Fairley demoted to second team defense

He was talking backups except for Mathis. Quin is ranked higher than Thomas and Chancelleor. Mathis is a good CB and had a good 2013. Slay has immense potential. Ihedigbo is better in run support and blitz than Thomas/Chancellor. You can compare them.

This, coming from a guy that thinks Florence=Haden.

If LKP was promoted to a GM, and someone told him he had to pick Quin or Thomas, and he went with Quin, he would be fired on the spot.

Ranked the same in PFF. Quin is a very good player and much cheaper. I would win GM of the year.

I like Quinn, don't get me wrong, but Thomas is a playmaker and the heart of the best secondary in recent memory. You cannot say that about Quinn. Different players completely

No one comes to play for Detroit because tbey want to. It's either because you're not getting any other offers, or/any other teams don't see you as a starter but the Lions do, or/and overpay them (by a lot), or/and a HC grabs a former player.

The Golden Tate signing says otherwise. Nobody wanted him?

Quin had 3 picks, forced fumble, fumbled recovery, 2 sacks. Quin makes plenty of plays.

Thomas had 5 picks, 2 forced fumbles, no recovered, no sacks. 7

Each made 7 big plays.

How many big plays did he give up.

Did anyone?

To go further, Tate quote "If you have an opportunity to earn way more money in another city, you'll leave in a second.."

SB champs went cheap on him so Detroit offered a lot more. Why? Because they're idiots.

30+ more tackles for Earl. He allows the rest of the secondary to play more aggresive. His speed, instincts, and tackling ability make him the ultimate safety net. He is probably more important than Sherman.

Learn the game.

Not to mention that on basically every credible website on the internet has Earl Thomas as their #1 OVERALL safety. I don't think I've seen Quin crack the top 10 on any of them.

You do the leg work, and prove that nobody wanted him. It's your comment. The signing was a need, and was a great signing for Detroit. Seattle couldn't afford him with having to sign Sherman, Thomas, and Russell. Tate didn't last long in FA, maybe, just maybe, he actually wanted to come to Detroit?

Quin is solid though. I'll give him that.

The leg work is that Seattle offered him half of what Detroit offered. Tate said. "I'm going to earn in one year at Detroit what Seattle was going to pay me for two years.."

So one team makes an offer so we automatically double it? Only the Lions.

Edit: Not 10% more or 30% but 100% -- yeah.

Because Tate is a stud, and a good number 2 was a NEED!! Tate should have a great season, then all is forgiven. Tate did not even tap his potential in Seattle, that will come to fruition THIS year, in a pass happy offense. God damn, with the Titus Debacle, the injuries to Broyles, the injuries to Burleson, shouldn't we be happy to have a good #2 in Detroit, that's not crazy, and stays healthy? I am. This could be Herman Moore/Brett Perriman all over again. Can't wait, GO DETROIT!!!!

So according to you, Detroit shouldve waited for Golden Tate to get another offer he couldn't refuse? Chris Durham all day baby!! Fuck that. Go look at other receivers contracts with comparable numbers to Tates and tell me what their getting paid in their second contract.

Tate is a good player. His production and skill set show that. I don't care what offers he did or didn't get. That proves nothing. Seattle will miss him.

No, what I meant was why not offer a little more especially at the time when his only offer was Seattle. Why double it..? Tate is a nice option but he's no Calvin Jr. I just don't get why you automatically double it..and if Tate did get a 3rd offer that was comparable he wouldn't be here..which was my point. We have to overpay.
