FANTASY BASEBALL DRAFT REMINDER!

The triples should be changed to something else.
On Base Percentage is good.
Back in 2010 when I did my first and only Fantasy Baseball with BigBob I think one of the catagories was obp. Tried to look up but yahoo keeps redirecting me to 2012.
Hey Bob, do you have any record or recollection of the different catagories you had? And you had a different type matchup....a weekly totals?

Firstly your all wrong, I win, end of discussion, muhahahaha!

Hitter Cats: R, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, Avg, & OPS

Pitcher Cats: IP, W, CG, SHO, SV, K, ERA, Whip

8x8 category style.

It is a points system going towards your H2H totals throughout the week. Basically your all fighting for 2nd place, congrats!

I'd take out 2B and 3B on offense and not add anything. Adding OBP would be redundant with OPS and average already there. The doubles and triples are already somewhat represented in OPS as well, and if you take out triples it wouldn't make sense to keep doubles as that would essentially make a double more valuable since it has its own category.

For pitchers I'd take out CG, SHO, and IP and replace it with holds. The starters are already well represented with wins and K's, plus their ERA and WHIP will be weighted more heavily than the relievers, so we don't really need those other three categories. I'm not a big fan of holds as a stat, but with a league this big we're going to be scraping the bottom of the barrel, and if middle relievers hold zero value, as they would in this setup, it would get ugly.

I'd still like to see 3B's in there. So what if there's only 1-2 triples a week? Makes it more interesting IMO...

Oh, and "holds" is a ridiculous stat. C'mon.

Your argument about triples is why I'd include holds. I agree it's basically a bs stat, but if we don't include it we're essentially making half the pitchers in the league obsolete. What value does anybody beside a starter or closer hold? You can argue that the very upper level of middle relievers rack up enough innings to make a dent in k's and era/whip, but those guys are few and far between. Having holds as a category opens up a large group of players that will be competed for. Think about it, there are 8 roster slots for pitchers, 5 bench spots, so assume 10 total spots for pitchers. That's 160 pitchers that will be drafted. There are only 180 starters and closers combined...is it not ridiculous that Brad Penny would have been under consideration for a roster spot last year??

I'm just arguing for the sake of it though, I really don't care what we end up doing. Just sayin.

just keep the default stats...not a big deal.

Sorry fellas my weekends are busy. I removed SHO and 3B's I will not be making any more changes because well its just impossible to please everyone. It'll be fun guys and it makes the real life season that much more interesting, oh and I get Don Kelly!

I could care less what the categories are... Let the commish pick them and lets just go with it.... So what day and time is the draft so i can start studying hour before hand.. The Dynasty just shows up and owners get scared.. :)

I hope Michigan is not playing the day of the draft..

remember! Tomorrow is the draft. It's at 6pm EST!

I'm ready...already asked the wife to make sure the kids are out of the house. =P See you all there!

Good job on a very successful draft guys. The teams seem to be pretty even aside from that Monster fella getting the #1 pick. Very nice crew we've got here thanks for making it a fun experience!

Son of a motherfucking bitch. Didn't get online all weekend, forgot about the draft.

Would anyone care to copy and paste my team? I can't access fantasy at work.

Thanks

Of course I get the guy who gave up 6 hr's yesterday!

Thanks a lot, bavarian.

So does every team suck, since we have so many teams, or does my team just REALLY suck?

Guess my offense isn't as bad as I thought, I had never heard of the young infielders, but it sounds like there's some promise.

I think teams are purty even for the most part.

seemed like rifht before my picks the guys i was hopen for would get picked, which is why i went mostly pitching at first.
