Fantasy vs. Reality

Nothing has changed for the negative for Detroit.

How can you say that when they lost Florence?

Remember this?

He played 600 snaps for Carolina. +7.6 coverage. Same as Joe Haden.

How is losing a CB of that caliber anything but a negative?

The lines were made before we even had Florence numbnuts.

So Slay and Mathis are good enough to withstand losing the equivalent of Joe Haden? That's kind of what your reply implies.

he said nothing bad happened to the Lions since that article.

They lost their #1 CB since then
one of their starting DTs got benched due to lack of discipline

You can talk to this homer until you are blue in the face and he won't listen.

They were the starters anyway. So yes, yes they are.

Slay will be this years Joe Haden when he breaks out and Mathis is already a good CB.

Fairley going to play a ton. Still a very good player. No change.

Slay and Mathis are the top CBs. Houston was hurt at the time of those lines too. Detroit upgraded at CB. So we should be favored in more than 10 now.

In mid May he was still expected to be the #1 CB when the season started...now he is gone. You used to say Houston was a top 15 CB in the NFL....prior to him leaving.

He was when healthy in 2011/2012 and early 2013 (prior to Week 4,Dallas/at Chicago game).

But Slay is growing and is more skilled and Mathis is a savy vet who outplayed Houston last year. We have no issues at CB to downgrade our games favored in.
