Ferguson, MO

If I did, I'd definitely be below the line, if that term applies to the theater, unless I was the writer.

Champ, just to let you know, ?above the line? and ?below the line? are Hollywood production cost terms.

?Above the line? are the costs of the big-name talent-actors, directors, and writers. ?Below the line? are the costs of everything else

Taking a short break from vacation in the great state of Michigan. Remember a few years back when people were blaming just the presence of "militarized" police for the escalation of protests to riots in Ferguson and elsewhere? Guess what, you were wrong. Turns out people get more aggressive when they know the cops won't do anything to stop them. Too bad I'm not the kind of person to say 'I told you so' because if I was, I would definitely be making a post to tell you I told you so. See you next week.

You'd post 'I told you so' with a Daily Wire link?

NC just saw this situation play out here where trouble happened exactly where police escalated and nothing happened where the police didn't push. Durham is the poorer city with higher crime. People boarded up expecting more trouble in comparison to Raleigh, but that's not how it played out.

So the feds are pulling out of Portland. Anyone expect a false flag attack on the courthouse now?

No, everything seems to be under control:

"Our local Oregon State Police officers will be downtown to protect Oregonians' right to free speech and keep the peace. Let's center the Black Lives Matter movement's demands for racial justice and police accountability. It's time for bold action to reform police practices."

I dunno, screw Portland, Portland blows.

Cobie Smulders has a pretty good series based in Portland, she plays a pansexual military vet PI with PTSD who has a penchant for bending the rules.

That?s about the only good thing going for it.

I?ve never been to Portland and I?m none the worse for it.

The Daily Wire quote matches other media outlets quotes.

?In other words, Seattle residence and business owners were largely on their own?? is the Daily Wire?s interpretation of the quote, and it?s presented as such.

Snopes published what is linked to.

I guess it?s sort of depends on ?what words to that effect? is interpreted as by the reader.

Doesn't matter since Spartanmack is on vacation, but seeing how this biased interpretation of something that's interpretable (but not Snopes 'mixed'-level interpretable), which even if the interpretation was fair would be a lone anecdote not capable of proving a negative, I think a fair interpretation is that this would have been a terrible 'I told you so' post if Spartanmack was the kind of person to post such a thing.

That there is one heck of a sentence.

I mean, what part of any of that proves that militarized police don't get a more violent reaction?

What ever happened to “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”? There have always been violent and destructive elements alongside protesters; when the mainstream is mad enough to protest, the extreme is mad enough to break stuff. Now we've got this pro-crack-down-lump-everyone-in-with-the-rioters attitude among a lot of us. It's some Un-American BS.

Maybe somewhere between 0-5% of humanity are capable of not only understanding that statement, but practicing it consistently.

The percentage of Americans is probably near the low end, possibly the lowest among nations.

Maybe.

I don?t know.

I don?t understand the mentality of anyone who would choose to go out into the streets to agitate an armed brigade when that person was free to do something much more pleasant, like hanging out at a dog park with TV and movie stars and their dogs, or, when, I was younger and single, trying to crush some pussy.

You don't understand or don't want to understand?

You don't understand or don't want to understand?

Probably both.

About a month ago or whenever it was, I was at a place where a riot broke out an hour after I left that was on national television, in Van Nuys. I saw the mob assembling, and the police lining up, and I thought to myself ?oh, there?s going to be a riot here..?

I didn?t stick around. That was close enough for me.

That there is one heck of a sentence.

you discount an article discussing facts and evidence with an anecdote and accuse me of bias - classic. Portland and Seattle both had police retreat and not confront the peaceful protestors and yet the peaceful protestors still rioted. But somewhere in North Carolina the police may have been responsible for stirring up violence - we don't know because there is no link, only the unbiased recounting of a DSF poster.

Are you aware the feds didn't send additional security forces (only to protect the Federal Courthouse) until Portland had seen 45 straight days of riots and violence and the Federal Courthouse had been attacked nightly? The idea that additional security forces are to blame for inciting violence is on it's face, moronic. Equally stupid is the idea that police shouldn't have equipment like armored vehicles to protect them from violent protestors. The reaction to dozens of cops suffering concussions while protecting a building or statue from spoiled, entitled morons shouldn't be "well, being a cop is dangerous." When it comes to violence and destruction of property, it shouldn't be anything close to a fair fight between the cops and the assholes.

By the way, the Feds didn't leave Portland so you may have to wait for your false flag story - unless the story about the Feds leaving Portland is the false flag.

I thought we established that dog parks are a big part of what makes America a shithole. if you're still hanging out in them, you should be cancelled.
