I know a guy who was a long-haul truck driver for years and finally had enough and got out of the business. Because of the high salaries drivers made, companies started installing trip meters and time clocks in the trucks. If you went over a certain set time for stops to fuel up your rig and eat, overslept, or were running behind from traffic issues that were not readily reported, they docked that time from the drivers pay, and it added up to significant amounts. Even docking money for being as little as 5 minutes over on a meal/fill-up. The guy I know said the hell with it one Christmas Eve when he was out in one of the Plain States...Nebraska maybe?; And because of horrible traffic by last minute shoppers was being alerted on his tattletale (what they call the box inside the truck that keeps time) of how much he was losing....even though he was working a holiday run which is extra pay for the inconvenience of being away from family, etc. the company still wanted to shave off as much as possible. Go capitalism! I guess?

Effin' metrics. I want truck drivers well-rested, in as good a place mentally as they can be. I love numbers in general, but hate the micromanagement.

Idea: Sites scheduled for demolition can be delegated to these "young folks" who like to break windows and beat each up on each other. They just don't seem reachable, so make 'em productive as possible.

did you copy that from Ali G's idea to tell the terrorists which buildings you want demoilished beforehand?

Nope. "Great minds," I suppose ... The only Alis I know are Muhammad and Haji-Sheikh. Never heard of Ali-G.

Well I don't know who Sasha Barron Leonard Cohen is, either.

wikipedia:
Sacha Noam Baron Cohen (born 13 October 1971) is an English comedian, actor, writer, director and film producer.[2] He is known for his creation and portrayal of several fictional satirical characters, including Ali G, Borat Sagdiyev, Br?no Gehard and Admiral General Aladeen. Like his idol Peter Sellers, Baron Cohen adopts a variety of accents and guises for his characters.[3] He interacts with unsuspecting subjects, who do not realise they have been set up for self-revealing ridicule. On these interactions, The Observer states, "his career has been built on winding people up, while keeping a deadpan face".[4]
A lot of his stuff is laugh-your-ass-off funny, but a lot of it is also cringeworthy, and some of it missing the mark completely, or is just downright mean.

The cinephile you are, it doesn’t make sense you’re not aware of the film Borat.

I'm aware of that film. Never saw it. Never learned who the guy was. And, because I am a "cinephile," I'm not that interested in what's being made presently. I looked at a few trailers of current releases and I just don't get the appeal.

Borat was in theaters fourteen (14) years ago. When did you decide to stop seeing movies?

There are still good movies getting made, but you gotta go to like film festivals to see them. Very few are intended for the masses to consume. They get their diet of Harry Potter and comic book movies.

In the theaters? Decades ago. I've seen maybe three movies in the theatre this century.

I have discovered better pursuits that occupy 90 minutes to two hours.

Ya i managed 80+ drivers for awhile. Theres a lot of new DOT regulations that limit how much time they can be on the road...and its all tracked. Good for safety...bad for their money. So alot of truck drivers say the hell with it and just try to find a local job now....even if the pay is less.

War, comedy, ironman as blackface, handicapface, asian drug dealers....you cant go wrong with tropic thunder. Best 90 minutes youll ever spend.

Not gonna suffer this, MC. If you are interested, I'll share. If not, ok. But this manner of response I find altogether banal.

Fine. For the record, I meant "method acting"... I wondered if you joined a local theatre group or something.

If I did, I'd definitely be below the line, if that term applies to the theater, unless I was the writer.
