Ferguson, MO

They were dealing with a guy that has already been charged with domestic abuse, fought off 2 or 3 police officers, 2 shots with a taser didn't slow him down one bit, and it appeared that he was reaching for something in the car.

Given those circumstances, it's reasonable that the police did fear for their safety, the safety of the three kids, and quite possibly the safety of the bystanders in the immediate area.

I do think all three cops should be fired for being pussies and not being able to subdue one guy without the use of a firearm.

If they were concerned about the safety of bystanders, maybe they should have spent more time at the gun range, and not missed 3 times at close range while shooting the suspect in the back. Bullets don't evaporate once they miss the intended target.

Honestly, I don't think the thought of bystanders or the children in the car ever entered their minds at all until after the shots were fired.

Aren?t these guys (and gals) taught hand to hand combat training in the academies?

Maybe there needs to be more emphasis on that.

Maybe limb submission holds.

There?s always a bunch of cops around an apprehension scene; maybe everybody grabs a limb and does whatever those ju jitsu guys do.

The case has been made by some on this board that by being at these protests that they knowingly put themselves in harm's way and deserve what's coming to them.

I don't think that applies to 17 year olds carrying, pointing, and shooting rifles at other protesters though. Probably applies to everyone else.

But that's the thing, he wasn't walking around pointing his gun at people. At least not from the videos I have seen, perhaps you have seen something different. Feel free to share.

He was attacked and defended himself with the weapon he brought for self defense.

The age at this point is irrelevant to the self-defense nature of the shootings.

The idea that one could knowingly bring an assault rifle to a emotionally charged and sometimes violent public protest, then shoot someone and claim self defense stands the idea of "self defense" on its head.

You can't intentionally put yourself in harm's way, then claim self defense.

A brick is too heavy to throw and not as bad as a can of soup because soup has force? What?

They got these big bags of soup they throw too. Big bags...biggest bags you've ever seen.

Can you imagine getting hit with a bag of soup? It probably doesn't feel real nice.

I?m skeptical...I never heard of a bag of soup of any size...just how big are the bags?

And is the soup liquid? Or is it like freeze dried soup and do you scoop the soup into a cup and pour on hot water?

Mainly used in restaurants. They come in frozen and are placed in big pots of water where the bags are heated. The bags are then cut open, emptied into an empty soup pot, then served. I've seen up to a gallon.

I've read multiple reports and seen at least one video where he (and others) were in the parking lot of a car dealership aiming his/their guns at passerbys that they deemed a threat or too close.

Subjective and very debatable. I'm just glad he didn't have it with him when he punched that girl in the back of the head repeatedly. I'm sure that was self defense too.

But not irrelevant to the situation at all really (And certainly not irrelevant to the courts). We're constantly making excuses for 'trained' adult police officers and the stresses of discharging their firearms inappropriately. An armed 17 year old in a volatile situation like this was a disaster in the making.

There are many civilians with better composure and range time than officers. There are also many officers who shouldn't be officers.

That NY video showed at a minimum 3.

In times of stress, people fall back on their instincts and that's something you can mold with training. Unless you are Alan Iverson, than you don't need practice.

Same here. I have also read that after he was kicked out of the first dealership by police, him and another vigilante went to a different car lot and attempted to "defend" it, that was when he was threatening people with his weapon and they started chasing him, leading up to the whole series of shooting events.

It's weird that protesters can be called socialist one day and anarchist the next.

Thinking of cougars?

Teens can be moms too.

Some channel I?m watching is promoting the new season of Teen Moms.

I guess that show?s been on for years.

Never saw it.

I think Dr. Drew has some connection to it.

I don?t know if any of the subjects have ever gotten into porn.
