Ferguson, MO

Seems like the judge kind of split the difference between what the prosecution was asking for and what the defense was asking for.

Personally, I expect better marksmanship from a Texan.

Also, in defense of the property owner?s marksmanship, the people doing the yardwork had likely just come across the border, so their skills of evasion might have still been pretty tiptop.

This Rittenhouse trial is gettin? pretty wild. The judge is getting pissed off at the prosecutor.

The kid has been on the stand for a while.

it sounds like from what I read, he'll be acquitted of murder, should rightly be convicted of weapons charges, but will probably skate on that.

nobody in the trial is coming off as competent or likable in any way.

so I suppose it accurately reflects America right now!

The kid broke down and cried on the stand and the judge paused the testimony for a bit after that. Then the judge sent the jury out two times to bitch out the prosecution for some procedural thing or other.

clear and obvious case of self defense from the jump. Charging this kid was a huge mistake and the prosecution has been getting their asses handed to them in court since opening arguments. They deserve to be made asses of (a job they?re doing quite well all on their own) as they've taken this tragedy and turned it into a travesty to try to score political points.

Looks like he will be acquitted of murder and probably should be. Nevertheless?

I hope he gets some kind of punitive action against him for basic dumbassery?weapons violation; curfew violation, refusal to disperse - same thing I would say and been saying about people who started as legitimate peaceful protesters when a riot broke out - when the police say disperse, they mean you and they mean now - gtfo!

whatever. bottom line, under no circumstances should a 17-year-old douchenozzle like Rittenhouse be traveling across state lines with an assault rifle to "police" a city he has no reason to be in.

if that guy had shot rittenhouse first, he'd have done America a favor.

Technically, the gun stayed at his friends dad house in Kenosha. I think it had been purchased in Wisconsin. He hadn?t traveled across state lines with it. That came out today in the testimony. Actually I would imagine people following the case have known it for sometime, I heard it today for the first time.

I guess, then, you are sorry ?that guy? wasn?t you.

So was it his gun or did he borrow it?

He's from the northern exurbs of Chicago, so he definitely crossed state lines himself to go to Kenosha.

it would be one thing if he was from Kenosha himself; still bad, but at least you could argue he had the right to be there. still a stretch to claim self defense (outside of our batshit insane country... under our English common law tradition you could not knowingly put yourself in a harmful situation, then claim self defense.)

he was obviously looking for trouble, and got what he wanted. and the people viewing his actions as heroic - or even in a positive light - consider themselves "pro life" ... LMAO. you're all as base and as Bloodthirsty as any other reactionary group in history. pro life my ass.

Maybe third tier law schools don't stress the importance of facts and evidence so I'll fill you in on a few. Rittenhouse didn't cross state lines with his weapon, it was kept in Kenosha and he wasn't in a city he had no business being in. He worked in Kenosha and lived not far from there and he was there to protect private property from being destroyed by lawless mobs and to administer first aid, which he was trying to do to Rosenbaum when the lawless mob chased him, hit him over the head with a skateboard that could have killed him and pointed a loaded handgun at him from close range.

Seems to me Rittenhouse did America 2 favors and almost a third.
