Free Agency 2013

Don't care, do want.

Scheffler, Hill may be toast. Drafting a backup qb with our compensatory pick. Do I care if we get Goldson and can work towards a defense that holds on 3rd and 17? NFW.

Too high if pick for us to draft a QB, imo. If between the 3rd and 4th round if rumors are accurate.

I was thinking end of fourth. Maybe later but if he's going to be the two he better have some talent. Otherwise there is always Jamarcus Russell. He's friends with Fairley and pretty well off, I think he'd be down for the minimum plus a 6er of Robitussin.

Vince Young has been working out for teams :D

Does Schwartz have history with him in Tennessee? As an aside anyone notice how Schwartz thinks Tennessee back in the day was like the '85 Bears or something? Same with Cunningham and KC guaranteed that is who is recruiting Dorsey.

They already have a project so if Hill does get let go I suspect they will just sign a cheap vet.

God help us if Kellen Moore ever takes the reins.

I'm with you there. But unless you take a QB in the early rounds, its just another project. And, IMO, the Lions can't afford to take a QB in the early rounds. There are always vet backup QB's to be signed.

Quinn is also rumored. Cheaper options at safety would make sense if Bush is indeed a lion.

LaRon Landry - DB - Jets The Detroit Free Press is "hearing" LaRon Landry may be a more likely free-agent safety target for the Lions than Dashon Goldson and Glover Quin.
The Lions are bottom ten in the NFL in cap space, though they could free up a lot of money by restructuring Matthew Stafford and Ndamukong Suh's contracts. Landry will likely end up with a deal averaging around $5 million annually. He'd shore up strong safety, with Amari Spievey replacing Louis Delmas at free safety. Related: Lions

Is Spievey still on the team?

welp...jones DE, Bush RB, Quin S and insert name here for FA CB signing would be a halfway decent start to the off season. We need to sign all of those guys though or we'll be left with scraps. kinda bummed were getting a late start and all of these other teams already have their targets locked up while we "scheduling visits" but meh....

we were never players in the initial round of FA anyways. we can't compete with any of these teams that had real cap and are overpaying for players. we have to lay back and make our rounds in the second and third tier of guys. we can pretty much only afford to spend on someone if we're getting them at or below market value.

edit: will be surprising if we even sign anybody today. we'll be bringing guys in and signing guys for the next week, though.
