Game 1: Giants @ Lions *Monday Night Football* Thread

Fauria could have had a TD if Stafford didn't gun it over his head. Did get that 2-pt conversion and a nice pitch and catch.

That Ebron play was not labeled a drop. It was a pass deflection. Slightly underthrown.

And way to early to say we should have done this or that. This is a 3 year assessment for Ebron, Fuller, Dennard and Dix.

Especially at 1-0 with a solid secondary day

did other rookies produce in week 1 that are "offensive weapons" and "matchup nightmares"? Im pretty sure I saw Cooks and Evans make some plays. We don't expect 8/100/2 every game. We expect him not to drop a touchdown pass. Make plays match up nightmare!

Some produced, some didn't. You fn losers will find anything to bitch about. Even in a win lol

Sorry Tony, let me fix all this:

The Lions are incredible. Great win against a great opponent. Defense was great, offense won't be stopped. No problems with the secondary, should be able to shut down everyone. Bush and Bell are the best one-two punch in the league.

Better?

of course. ppl like him always do

though there are a few legit complaints. particularly with the dumb penalties in the first half. though they did correct that in the 2nd with no penalties period. 3 of those cost us at least 1 TD

Whatever makes ya feel better about yourself. lol. I'm just not too worried about the Ebron situation. It's been explained at nauseum what he brings to the table. He's a threat and you have to account for him. He opens up the offense. With the additions of Tate, this offense will be retarded. The Giants tried to man-up on Calvin and when that happened, it was disastrous for them. It's not all about CJ anymore. Even the way they used Fauria opened things up more. A football mind would know this....sorry you don't.

And why all of a sudden are you toads worried about Bill fn Bentley? He can be replaced by a pylon. The Champ is coming to town anyways and i can guarantee you he's better than any nickel CB on the team right now.

Can't overreact from one game.

Carolina is going to be tough to protect Stafford. We made need Tate and Ebron big time for short stuff and YAC.

Glad we didn't need him Week 1.

and morons like you and tony flip flop so often you don't even know what youre saying half the time. Lets go back 2 months ago and look at some of tonys comments about ebron....then lets compare them to all the defending he does in regards to ebron today. If you look at them side by side youd think hes a flippin psycho. Not to mention ebron has done nothing to warrant any of the defense he is getting.

like i said ppl like u are NEVER happy

All I know is he laid out a few nice blocks and drew some coverage which helped other receivers. The expectation on any rookie receiver / TE should be tamed. However, picking him when they did was rather risky considering the needs but a corner would present the same rookie pain. I was happy to see him block well and he is eventually going to be worked into a target. He needs a little more time to understand the schemes is my guess

agreed

did you like seeing him drop a touchdown pass...or was that just cause hes a rookie and doesn't have a full understanding of how to catch a ball yet?

Wasn't a drop.

hit him in the hands, fell incomplete then they cut away to Stafford looking pissed giving the "squeeze the damn ball" motion. You can call it whatever you want....he dropped a touchdown.

Self proclaimed football mind.

You figure a football mind would be smart enough overall to know that it's not AT nauseam.

Offense is fine. It has plenty. Get used to seeing no-namers trotted out in the secondary because Lions needed that 3rd TE. Hopefully they'll add on another weapon in the draft, because Stafford needs more. More, more, more. Weapons. WOO, shiny!!!!
