Game 10: Lions @ Steelers Thread

Just a pathetic pathetic performance from the coaching staff. We have so much talent, but it's going to be wasted by our clueless coaches.

Pittsburgh. 1.5 YPC on 27 carries. Detroit 4.3 YPC

Damn the fake FG. I get going for the throat but that truly sucked.

Pittsburgh had 18 turnovers coming into this game. The Lions didn't get any. Terrible

Sure but his accuracy blew.. it blew bad.

Guy doesn't play well in the rain..now we know. Maybe next time we will game plan well enough to make him not have to throw the ball 46 fucking times, or actually have a game plan focused on working shorter routes, airing it out with wind and rain is not smart

What talent showed up today? All i saw was the QB that has accuracy issues, the WRs that can catch, the secondary that cant catch or defend, and the D-line that can't beat the man in front of them

While this team does have talent, they did not show it today. The coaches made a few bad calls (fake was horrible), but the players need to make plays and they did not.

dline sacks create turnovers sometimes...oh wait..Hurries and qb hits are more important

There were very little hurries or hits. Hence no turnovers.

And when there was Big Ben was good in the pocket avoiding them.

This team still ain't ready. The win is always there for the taking smh

more the a few..

play calling by Jim, Scott, and Gunther were so bad today

Stafford was 3-16 in the 2nd half including 0-10 in the 4th quarter (there were drops of course). Normally he is the highest rated QB in the 4th quarter.

The Lions played poor today, no question about it. Part of it may have been the weather, but Stafford was definitely not up to par accuracy wise either. I highly doubt he has another game as poor as this one the rest of the season, so at least that's something positive looking forward. We only have 1 outdoor game left the rest of the season.

The DLine needs to be called out and called out hard. I said in the prediction thread that I didn't understand the hype these guys get, and experts were writing it was a HUGE advantage for us against the Steelers. Ummmm yea not so much. Secondary forgot how to tackle as well, which never helps.

The fake FG, I dunno yeah in hindsight obviously it's an awful awful call. I personally kind of liked it though. Going for the throat on the road takes balls, and too many teams play it safe and it ends up burning them in the end. You're in a position where the defense is not going to expect it at all as well (like Stafford's TD plunge against Dallas, which also took mega balls), which should work in your favor. The play itself was badly designed though.

I didn't like the fake because the of the distance, and the fact that the field was slick.

The fake field goal doesn't bother me, giving up 37 points to a team that only ave'd 1.5 yards a carry with an offensive line that blows as bad as pittsburghs does..that bothers me

I am sick and tired of watching the secondary get torched week in and week out. This secondary has been horrendous for years and these jackasses do nothing but replace scrubs with scrubs.
