Game 13: Lions @ Eagles Thread

The more I think about, the more symbolic this picture is of the Lions season.

Stafford is the Lions franchise
The football is the NFC North division title

The ball is right there, all they need to do is pay attention and catch it, but instead it flies right past them and another team picks it up.

don't forget the key part of that play. The smart thing to do is just jump on the ball but that's not what Stafford does...he tries to pick it up! Stupid play!

Because it wasn't a blizzard in the 2nd half?

It wasnt supposed to be a blizzard, only flurries. thats what Lynch and that other putz were saying.

And how the fuck does anyone know if the Lions didnt have extra cleats? i guarantee they did anyways, its a professional football team. A rumor on the internet says maybe they didnt? You guys are complete fn morons, you know that? You think this is the 1930's or something? For fk sakes ....they have trainers that take care of equipment and theyre going to a place where the snow pisses. Ill bet my life that there were extra cleats somewhere in that visiting locker room.

So you were in the locker room at halftime then? Get your fn head outta your ass......

After the half it was reported that Philly changed their cleats. Philly started to dominate. I have no idea if the Lions changed theirs but it certainly looked like shit. BTW...I never said I knew what they did or didn't do....just if they didn't they were idiots.

Lions were using the long correct cleats all game per Schwartz.

Link? If that's true, it certainly showed in the second half. Imo the Lions dline and Oline looked at a disadvantage the whole second half. Suh and Fairley were manhandled the entire second half.

I don't see the Lions organization ever admitting the short cleats were used, gonna take a player throwing them under the bus, which I could see happening.

So Philly was dumb and used the wrong cleats in the first half. Then changed.

My prediction?

The Lions are going to end the season in perfect Lions fashion

They're going to win their last 3 games convincingly, double digit wins, no turnovers, few penalties, sure hands, no big plays given up. I'll even go out on a limb and say Akers is perfect the rest of the way.

Then in the 1st round of the playoffs, they're going to get demolished at home. That old, familiar Lions team is going to rear it's ugly head. They'll probably turn it over 4-5 times, drops on 3rd downs in opponent territory, big runs on defense, zero pressure on the opposing QB...in fact the O-line we've seen most of the season will disappear and Stafford will be running for his life. The Lions will lose by 3-4 TDs.

As pessimistic Lions fans, we've been waiting for the total collapse. We've seen glimpses here and there, lapses on defense and offense, mental screw-ups late in games, but it hasn't all come crashing down at once yet. I think that happens in the playoffs.

I believe they're done already. Monday night should be icing on the cake. What you described as the first game of the playoffs is what I think will happen with Baltimore. This season it seems like most everyone on the team took the blame (at some point) for the team losing games. It's old at this point. Bell is the one vowing to run harder next week. I'm glad he actually gives a damn, but I don't expect the whole team to do what they need to do to get a win. I see a replay of the last time we played them; a steamrolling.

Who reported it?

Bottom line is the Lions got their asses handed to them. You can keep your shitty excuses, faulty reasoning, and hocus pocus.

Who cares if they did or didn't have the right cleats?? Regardless of whether you think they did or didn't, you can't deny that the Lions were outplayed AND out coached.

This i agree with.

I read in the USA today that McCoy went from 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch. Like some others said...the Lions sucked. Maybe they did have the right cleats on like Gym Shorts said but it seemed that after the 1/2 something changed. It was probably the Eagles coaches making adjustments while the Lion's coaching staff made snowmen in the parking lot!

I don't see them collapsing yet, they still have to get our hopes up before they do it.

with how shitty the bears and GB are....they might not let us down until the first rd of the playoffs....unfortunately that doesn't make us a good team....just the best of the worst in what is now probably the worst division in football.

If they did have the long cletes then they suck. They got manhandle in the 4th. So we had the right cletes in the first half why Philly didn't yet we don't do shit, thanks for the Int but once philly changes they dominate us? We suck.

I'm actually really curious to know if they had the right cleats on. If they didn't even bring them to Philly, then it just goes to show that this organization can even hire terrible equipment managers.
