Game 13: Lions @ Rams Thread

Sorta like earlier in the game when the defensive back walled off cj to his route ten yards downfield? I didn't realize you could jam someone that far down. This is the nfl to me..when we played Green Bay...McCarthy was ripping the refs over and over again for our man coverage. Then shortly after a timely pi call on absolutely nothing. The good teams complain and get what they want. Nowwww.. I don't think we lost most of our games by the refs... But that shit does get annoying to watch.

I don't necessarily think you need a HC that goes off on refs. You can win with a docile HC. It happens. Good team play takes care of everything.

What we need is maybe a HC like Bill Belichick or Bruce Arians. They don't sit on the ball if they have a 10 point lead. Weather there's a whole quarter left or just 5 minutes.

Nah, don't want to hear that. Seattle still had almost two minutes to march down the field and score. Calvin still fumbled, did he not?

And Green Bay, come on. Coaching lost the Lions that game, plain and simple.

Yeah, well, you're going to hear it. We had that game but the refs don't know the fucking rules and it was stolen from us. The fumble is irrelevant in this case.

The phantom facemask call was horse shit. I'll agree on the coach blew it, but the facemask was brutal

Because when your bust of a 1st round pick is bitching about borderline officials, that's bad. Someone needs to get to him and tell him to shut his damn mouth.

Ebron is a bust now? Jesus Christ that's harsh lol

No it wasn't stolen man. If it was the last play of the game, fine. Seattle had PLENTY of time to score a touchdown.

And right now, what else would you call him? Two years into his career in which he's shown zip, I don't know what else to say. Want me to be softer and call him a disappointment? I'll do that.

Underwhelming? Not so good? Unworthy of a top ten pick? But a bust is like Jamarus Russell. Ebron might be a bust but you need to wait a bit to find out if he indeed ends up a bust.

Fine, I'll call him a complete disappointment. I can agree with that. I'll give him the bust category next season if he shows up again with the same attitude and poor on-field performance.

Don't be softer for me lol. Calling him a bust is retarded. Rookie TEs struggle...he did that. Now, he had IMPROVED from last year. The numbers show it...you cant deny it. Are you really this fkn dumb? If he regressed? Ok, start calling him a bust, but he has actually contributed MORE than he did from the year before. I swear, you're the dumbest person on tbis board. A bust? Wow

So, other than one game in which he caught a big pass on a broken coverage, how exactly has he improved? Because he was so incredibly f'ing bad his first year, this is improvement? When you watch the guy on the field, do you say to yourself, "Wow, Eric Ebron is so much better than last year, I can see why they drafted him!" I sure as shit don't. I see the exact same guy as last year who gets the occasional more targets, drops just as much, can't block, and continues to mouth off.

If this is improvement, then we can bank on him being a bust.

Well he is better ;-). Even if it's minuscule.

I guess then when I go out and do something, I'll make sure to do a beyond shitty job, and then when the next time rolls around and I do a better job, I'll get a pat on the back.

From whatever I see on the field, he doesn't look any better. He's doing the same thing Stafford is. You can drop in film from year 4 of Matt Stafford vs now, and he's the same guy.

Don't give up. If Ebron puts up a little over 400 yards and 7 TDS each of the next three games, he will be right where 42nd overall pick Rob Gronkowski was!

Come on now, we aren't allowed to compare Lions athletes to anyone in the upper echelon and look to them for how positions should be played.

It's okay that Stafford will never be as good as Brady, Rodgers, Brees. It's okay that Ebron will never be Gronkowski. They are Lions, and our expectations are low. And if we expect these players to equal those guys, we are idiots.

Many good QB's that will never be as good as Brady. That includes Brees.

Is it too much to ask that Stafford is in the same stratosphere as these guys?
