Game 14: Lions @ Saints *Monday Night* Thread

I've never felt so dirty after a Lions win. I'm going to need counseling.

533-634-32.

Just think guys, this season has been so shitty on so many teams, it's actually still possible we could be drafting as late as #20 in a season in which we're currently 5-9.

I hate it, hate it with a passion, I hate how that ended, play for the field goal instead of having a put em away! mentality, it's dumb why even take the chance of letting them have another shot at it, when you control your own destiny for a win you don't leave a crack! You play to win the game Jim Caldwell...first and goal inside the 10, put it in the endzone! pathetic no killer instinct garbage..go suck ass jimmy Caldwell

I know. The NFL is so bad now days..
4 teams over .500 in the NFC.
6 teams in the AFC..

---------------
2015
NFC-6
AFC-9.
-----------------------------
2014
NFC-7
AFC-6

I guess there is not that much difference.. 15 to 10 is pretty big..

Not sure that's a good thing. Wins are nice but 5-9 stinks.

Oh, I don't think there is an argument that can be made for "good thing". It just speaks to the way the NFL's idea of "parity" has failed.

This season is a league of the have's and have not's.

you misunderstand why many wanted the lions to lose. it had far less to do with draft position and far more that Caldwell MUST be fired. this isn't debatable, that coward needs to be fired.

with that being the case, it is much better if the lions can pick closer to 5 than to 20 so that the new coach is able to get the player he wants. Caldwell got Ebron...he deserved to be fired for that alone. you can still get A player the new coach wants at around 20, but you are less likely to get THE player the new coach wants. that carries throughout the draft. the new coach is able to build more of the team he wants on the field.

I honestly don't see how wins and losses against a team as horrible as the Saints should dictate anything?

A coach's job is to manage the flow of the game. Caldwell doesn't do that. He burns challenges at the wrong time. He get conservative way too early. He continues to turn games that could be blowouts into squeakers. There is literally nothing about the way the man coaches on the field that says he should remain a coach.

His team has won 5 games in spite of him, not because of him.

If the next GM doesn't fire him, we have obviously hired the wrong guy. That will be our first clue.

Winning tonight doesn't change the fact that Jimmy did everything he could to prevent it, and has been all season. Does anyone think the Saints, who have the same record we do, are about to fire Payton for a shitty season?

No, because anyone can tell he's a damned smart coach having a bad year. Anyone can tell Caldwell is a damned shitty coach, having... whatever you'd call this. I'm not sure if it's good or bad by his standards.

He needs to be fired no matter what. And this team needs to rack up the wins along the way, because the do have the talent to be winning.

I thought for sure they were about to fuck up another big lead. This team needs a lot better leadership.

Honestly wish we would've lost just to further prove how much Caldwells cowardly play calling kills this team. There is no such thing as a satisfactory win with this guy at the helm. Hes such a fucking pussy.

Caldwell doesn't have the go for the juggler mindset to take a team to greatness, way too play it safe and it costs games..he's got to go, I like the job Austin does and so far Jim Bob hasn't been horrible..keep em both if we can but Caldwell idk man I'm not real impressed with his conservative play not to lose mindset...we've endured way too many damn years of that same crap with others and it never works in the long run! EVER!
