Game 14: Vikings @ Lions Thread

Lombardi is a good OC. Tate got tackled twice that rarely happens and Ross dropped a ball. Vikings defense is good.

Just applying the easy math here...

Tate has 91 catches, and 4TDs... but he "rarely gets tackled"?

Seems to me he's tackled on roughly 95.7% of his catches.

Without getting proper YAC. I thought you guys were smart enough to follow that. Tackled right away (which happened twice) rarely happens to Tate, especially when needing a first down on 3rd.

It was one of Matt's better games. Which is part of the issue.

When 17/28 153Yds, 1TD, 0 Iints is arguably one of your top 5 games out of 14 that isn't a great season.

Luckily we have one of the best defenses and they allowed us to stay close and helped us win. Offense needs to pick it up, the game as a whole was not good enough.

He really had two other TDs though. Two TD drops and Tate blew a redzone chance. 3 Tds and d0 ints is a great game. True 19/28 is 67%.

Two dropped TDs?

Tate also converted a simple pass into a TD. The average scoring drive was 40ish Yards. Offense didn't play well. Stafford managed an ok game, didn't make any big mistakes.

Being slow cost team another redzone chance.

Lions moved the ball when they had too. Two FG drives plenty of distance on last two. Bell and Ross dropped TDs turning 7 into 3. And you saw what Tate usually does on those short throws. He should have done that on two other 3rd downs. Stafford did well.

And Ebron sprung Tate on that TD. Great block. Worth pick 10 just for that block

Stafford did well. Stop hating on such a great job. Be thankful we have him.

what about when Stafford takes the snap....rolls to his right....oline blocks perfectly, WR is wide open dragging across the field....and matt doesn't throwi it even within 5 yards of him and kills a drive. Whos fault is that?

Worst in the league? Exaggerate much? lol. He's learning on the fly. I get the frusturation, but let's give him another year or two before we cast him in the Detroit River.

Turning a top offense into a sputtering pile of poop gets him those honors. Why wouldn't it.

I followed it immediately from your initial post. And I agree with the premise....it's amazing how he just turns those wide receiver screens into gains all the time. He is rarely ever tackled right away.

Ross drop wasn't going to be a TD. Would of had 1sy and goal, but not guarantee TD.

Don't recall the Bell drop being a sure TD, but might of been. Was that the second down play that proceeded staff being caught from behind on 3rd down on an easy scramble?

I didn't take anything away he managed an ok game, didn't make a big mistake. He did what you need to do when you have a top 2 Defense.

the two penalties earlier that turned a 17 yarder into a 3rd and long. Stafford is allowed 2 misses. He had 2 misses. Rest of the game was great. True 3 TD 67% game.

Nobody in front of Ross. He could have rolled 5 yards into the endzone. Bell was a sure TD or at least first down. Lions easily score those. Plus the Tate stop in redzone. 12 more points. 28 point day. Great game.

19 TDs 10 ints. The TDs are only rising. I said he would be low teens. May be even lower that with ints. Great job new coaching.

sounds pretty average to me. So were paying the highest paid qb in the league to be average. nice job mayhew.

I'm willing to wait it out. Word is it takes a full year and then some to really get this offense. Couple of new pieces next year and see where we go from there. We're fucking Lions fans....all we have is patience.

The Bell drop was going to be a TD. Ross drop was for a 1st down ...beautiful throw.

Can we trade him for Linehan back. I don't think even he could fuck this up the way Lombardi is.

So Stafford is allowed two misses but "weapon" are not allowed to miss?

Ross missed and Bell missed. Two missed. Ross wasn't a TD anyways. True 1 TD 61%

I believe Drew Brees was top 5 first year. Not sure what is so complicated it takes over a year. Not like it's a new language, just a different dialect at most
