Game 16 Bears @ Lions Thread

Part of me is glad. What good are those numbers when you go 4-12? Do it again next year when we make the playoffs!!!

Same here, don't really want them trying to take anything good away from this season, they don't deserve it. Let's see if they can all manage to stay out of trouble in the off season at least and we'll call that a good start..

Tennesse scored 28 points in less than 5 minutes without running a single offensive play...even the Lions didn't let a team do that.

I still don't want the bears to make the playoffs so I guess i'll be rooting for the vikes

THANK GOD THAT IS OVER.

See you in February...spring training...

Given up hope of seeing any hockey this season...

If there are not firings tomorrow, do you think there will be any during the rest of the off season?

drops cause staff cant throw the ball. 1 of em CJ definitely should have had....hit him in the chest.

You also have to take into consideration his drops throughout the year. No biggie. These type of seasons may end up being the norm for him the next couple of years.

....usually that would be enough to prompt some sort of change when you end the year like that. But our organization usually welcomes it and doesnt hold anyone accountable. Doubt anything will happen.

I've seen this movie many many times, here's what happens next, no major coaching changes this year unless Gunther retires. They rebound and make the playoffs next year as the 6th seed on the road of course, lose in the first round then in 2014 they go 5-11 6-10 and then everybody is fired and they start over again.

Rinse, wash, repeat

That's a very likely scenario (no sarcasm either).

playoffs next year is a huge stretch with all the issues we face this offseason. What divisions do we play next year?

Well, now that our boys have done what we thought they'd do, let's put this in a better light: I mentioned we would fall from a 4th slot to perhaps 11th. Someone said that's no big deal. Ah, I disagree. See, now we should be drafting 4th, then 36th, 68th and so forth. IOW, some half dozen + slots ahead of where we would have been. Quite significant, provided Mayhew doesn't screw the pooch in the coming months. This next draft could be huge, as -- with the paring off of some bad apples, a signing of a decent FA or two, plus 2 or 3 good draft picks -- the Lions, should they stay reasonably healthy, might just end up in the playoff next season. This loss should be for the best, but we shall see...

youre putting a whole lot of faith in a guy that hasnt had a draft that has produced any significant numbers in years. Not to mention hasnt had a splash in FA in years.
